- Develop and execute business development strategies that drive growth across utility-scale renewable energy projects, with a focus on expanding relationships with developers, independent power producers (IPPs), utilities, and asset owners.
- Build, strengthen, and manage executive-level customer relationships while serving as the primary commercial contact throughout the sales and project development lifecycle.
- Lead the complete commercial process from opportunity identification and project qualification through proposal development, contract negotiation, project award, and handoff to execution teams.
- Define bid strategies and collaborate closely with estimating and preconstruction teams to develop competitive pricing, commercial proposals, and risk assessments.
- Personally negotiate EPC contracts, pricing structures, project scope, schedules, commercial terms, and risk allocation with customers and legal stakeholders.
- Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews with key accounts to evaluate project pipelines, strengthen strategic partnerships, and identify new business opportunities.
- Partner with construction and operational leadership to ensure commercial commitments align with project execution capabilities and delivery objectives.
- Monitor industry trends, competitive activity, and market opportunities to support long-term business growth and strategic planning.
- Travel regularly to customer sites and executive meetings to maintain strong relationships, present proposals, and close strategic opportunities.
- 10+ years of business development experience within the renewable energy or utility-scale solar industry.
- Demonstrated success securing and negotiating large-scale EPC contracts from origination through project award.
- Strong commercial acumen with extensive experience reviewing, negotiating, and managing complex engineering, procurement, and construction agreements.
- Proven ability to develop executive-level client relationships and successfully close high-value commercial opportunities.
- Deep understanding of utility-scale solar projects, renewable energy markets, commercial contracting, pricing strategies, and project development.
- Experience collaborating with estimating, preconstruction, engineering, construction, and legal teams throughout the commercial process.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to balance long-term growth planning and hands-on deal execution.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience preferred.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively to support customer engagement and business development activities.
- Competitive annual salary ranging from $200,000 to $250,000, based on experience and qualifications.
