U.S. Legal Support is seeking an experienced Digital Reporter Lead to support the development, training, and ongoing success of our Digital Reporter (DR) team nationwide. This role combines hands-on Digital Reporting responsibilities with leadership and training duties, spending approximately 50% of the time performing Digital Reporter assignments and 50% of the time serving as a Lead.
The Digital Reporter Lead will oversee the training and development of new hires, provide ongoing support to Digital Reporters, and contribute to the continuous improvement of training programs. This position plays a critical role in ensuring reporters are knowledgeable, confident, and proficient in the use of required technology and procedures.
In addition, the Digital Reporter Lead is responsible for the verbatim capture of legal proceedings through the utilization of audio and visual recording technology while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, accuracy, and client service.
Key ResponsibilitiesTraining & Development- Assist with Digital Reporter training programs throughout the United States
- Facilitate one-week onboarding and training programs for newly hired Digital Reporters
- Conduct live dictations and hands-on training exercises for trainees
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and ongoing support to Digital Reporters
- Deliver feedback and recommendations to strengthen training programs and align with industry trends and business objectives
- Ensure new hires are proficient in required technology, procedures, and best practices
- Manage the verbatim capture of legal proceedings utilizing audio and visual technology
- Create annotations and keyword markers to facilitate transcription workflows
- Manage speaker identification and exhibit tracking during proceedings
- Transport, set up, operate, and maintain audio/video equipment, including laptops, mixers, microphones, and software
- Follow company-defined standards, processes, and operating procedures
- Represent U.S. Legal Support in a professional, organized, and punctual manner
- Provide support to Digital Reporters via email, Microsoft Teams, and 8x8
- Assist reporters with procedural questions and best practices
- Collaborate with leadership to identify opportunities for process improvement
- Perform additional administrative and operational duties as assigned
- Minimum three (3) years of experience as a:
- Transcriber
- Typist
- Law Clerk
- Legal Assistant
- Paralegal
- Videographer
- Other legal support professional
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to type 60+ words per minute accurately
- Knowledge of legal studies, communications, or a related field preferred
- Working knowledge of civil deposition rules and procedures
- Familiarity with legal terminology
- Technical knowledge of audio and video equipment

- Current AAERT Certification (American Association of Electronic Reporters and Transcribers) with ongoing renewal
- Current Notary Public Certification with ongoing renewal

- Ability to transport, lift, and maneuver equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to bend, stoop, and carry equipment required for legal proceedings
