Position Summary

The Batch Plant Operator is responsible for supporting the daily setup, operation, maintenance, and cleaning of the batching plant. While the role includes limited system input and monitoring, it is primarily a hands on, labor intensive position focused on ensuring the plant runs efficiently, safely, and in compliance with project specifications.

This role works under the direction of field leadership and engineering teams and is responsible for executing batching activities as instructed, rather than independently determining mix designs or production parameters.

Key Responsibilities

Plant Setup and Maintenance

  • Perform initial setup and breakdown of batch plant components, including assembly and disassembly as required for project needs
  • Clean plant equipment and components regularly to ensure proper functionality and prevent material buildup
  • Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance of plant systems and equipment
  • Identify and report equipment issues or maintenance needs to supervisors

Batching and Production Support

  • Input concrete or bentonite mix designs into the batching system as directed by field engineers or corporate technical leadership
  • Adjust mix settings in the system based on instructions provided by engineering or project leadership
  • Monitor batching operations to ensure materials are produced according to specified requirements
  • Assist in maintaining consistent material quality and production flow

Material Handling and Site Support

  • Support loading raw materials into silos and plant systems
  • Assist with general site labor as needed to support plant operations
  • Occasionally operate a forklift or other equipment on an as needed basis (not a primary responsibility)

Quality Control

  • Perform basic testing of concrete or slurry mixtures in accordance with project requirements
  • Document test results and communicate findings to field leadership
  • Ensure materials meet required specifications before and during production

Safety and Compliance

  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures at all times
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Participate in safety meetings and adhere to site-specific safety requirements

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Prior experience in construction, concrete, or industrial labor roles required
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools and equipment
  • Ability to follow technical instructions and work under direction
  • Forklift certification preferred (if applicable)

Physical Requirements
