Job Description

Position Summary

The Product Category Manager (PCM), Accessories is the business owner for BGE's accessory portfolio, spanning cooking tools, covers, grilling surfaces, bakeware and other accessories; accountable for commercial success and cross-functional alignment. This role plans and executes category strategy, chooses the right products to meet customer needs, and uses market insights to guide product decisions. The PCM works closely with Product Delivery, Marketing, Revenue Growth, User Research, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Vendors, and our manufacturing partners to ensure the accessory category delivers against BGE's broader portfolio and brand objectives.


The ideal candidate prioritizes quality and user experience, is analytically rigorous and empathetic to users, with the ability to make clear prioritization decisions and influence cross-functional stakeholders in a premium brand-focused environment. Success in this role will be measured by category sales growth, margin contribution, sell-through rates, and category assortment health.

Key Responsibilities

Essential functions of the role include:

    Define and execute short- and long-term category strategy for the BGE accessory portfolio — including assortment lifecycle direction, target segment positioning, and growth levers — aligned to overall brand and portfolio goals.Develop deep understanding of end-consumer needs and competitive trends; translating consumer insight and market data into product requirements and business cases.Prioritize which SKUs or innovations to pursue; set target cost, determine claims, and performance requirements; and approve or reject tradeoffs between cost, quality, scope and timelines. Set and manage pricing strategies for the accessory category to maximize sales volume, margin contribution, and overall category P&L.Partner with Product Delivery, Marketing, Revenue Growth, Supply Chain, and Finance to align on initiatives and campaigns, ensure on-time product availability, and dictate clear and unified launch plans.Track category KPIs — including sales, margin, sell-through, and inventory turns — and use sales data, market research, and competitive analysis to identify opportunities and drive improvement.


Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in category management, product management or equivalent experience.
  • BA/BS (or equivalent experience) in the field of business administration, engineering or relevant field.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop category strategy, manage a product portfolio, and drive data-informed business decisions.
  • Ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines and follow through on commitments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at multiple levels.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint); experience with ERP or PLM systems, a plus.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in consumer products, outdoor cooking, retail, dealer/distributor networks, e-commerce, manufacturing, hospitality, events or lifestyle brands.
  • Familiarity with New Product Development processes and systems.
  • Interest in live-fire cooking, outdoor entertaining and/or the Big Green Egg brand community.
