Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly knowledgeable and experienced Products Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the lifecycle of our products from conception through delivery. The SME will act as the go-to authority on product functionality, application, market relevance, and competitive positioning. This individual will work cross-functionally with engineering, product management, sales, marketing, and customer support to ensure the success and evolution of our product offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the internal and external expert on product capabilities, performance, use cases, and differentiation.
  • Provide technical leadership during product development, enhancements, and launch phases.
  • Collaborate with R&D and Engineering teams to define product requirements and ensure alignment with market needs and standards.
  • Support Sales and Marketing teams with deep product knowledge, technical content creation, and customer engagement.
  • Deliver product training to internal stakeholders, partners, and clients.
  • Analyze competitive products and technologies to support positioning and roadmap decisions.
  • Lead root-cause analysis and solution support for escalated product issues.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation including product specifications, user guides, FAQs, and application notes.
  • Monitor customer feedback, market trends, and industry developments to guide product improvements.
  • Act as the voice of the customer during product planning and feedback sessions.
  • Support troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of product performance issues in the field.
  • Conduct product qualification testing and coordinate with third-party labs or clients as necessary.
  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of technical specifications, datasheets, manuals, and design tools.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes affecting product areas.
  • Collaborate with sales and business development teams on product presentations, proposals, and client meetings.
  • Provide technical training, documentation, and support for internal teams and clients.
  • Support the development and improvement of products, including design validation, field testing, and failure analysis.
  • Lead product selection and configuration based on project specifications, industry codes, and client requirements.
  • Serve as the technical authority on products, including monitoring equipment and related systems.
  • Lead product design and development efforts.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in either Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.

  • 5+ years of experience in a product-centric technical role (Product Manager, Engineer, Application Specialist, etc.).
  • Strong domain knowledge in the relevant industry (e.g., technology, manufacturing, energy, monitoring devices).
  • Proven track record of cross-functional collaboration and leadership without direct authority.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with product lifecycle management and agile development processes.
  • Comfortable presenting to clients, executives, and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with PLM tools, CAD, or product modeling software (as relevant).
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance standards in the industry.
  • Project management or Six Sigma certification is a plus.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes related to products.
  • Familiarity with digital monitoring systems and data integration.
  • Experience with international project standards and clients.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate technical requirements into practical product solutions.
  • Deep understanding of industry principles, materials, and components across different sectors.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., NACE CP Certification, PMP, Agile Product Management certification) are strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of cellular and satellite communication systems.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily office-based with occasional travel for site visits, customer meetings, or trade shows.
  • Flexible working arrangements may be considered.
  • Willingness to travel to job sites, customer locations, or industry events as needed.
