Requirements:Purpose and Scope
The Project Engineer is an integral member of the Project Team that offers support to both the Project Manager and Job Superintendent on a daily basis. Duties are carried out in a manner that aligns with the company’s beliefs / values / mission / vision.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Solicit pricing and purchase commodity materials
- Assist with the buyout process
- Correspond with design team members on a daily basis
- Process, review and expedite shop drawings and submittals
- Initiate, track and process responses to Requests for Information (RFI’s)
- Solicit pricing for Construction Bulletins (CB’s)
- Update and maintain field drawings
- Assist with change documentation and issuing change orders
- Assist with Quality Control measures, including review of concrete test reports, building details, maturity testing, etc.
- Assist Job Superintendent with reports, including time tracking and percent complete reports
- Coordinate jobsite deliveries
- Distribute all correspondence to subcontractors on site
- Prepare meeting minutes for team, progress and pre-installation meetings
- Coordinate site visits for local building inspectors
- Take weekly jobsite pictures and assemble monthly reports
- Coordinate and manage close-out procedures
Education and Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent education & experience in related field
- 2 or more years of relevant work experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Estimation of water/wastewater construction
- Ability to perform material take-offs/quantity surveys
Candidates must possess:
- A valid driver’s license and means of transportation
- Moderate to advanced computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail, with strong organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and perform effectively despite sudden deadline and priority changes
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with willingness and ability to accept responsibility, work as a team player, and take initiative to improve personal and interpersonal skills
Work Environment:
- Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, and sit.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds without assistance.
- Indoor, non-smoking, temperature-controlled environment.
- Some exposure to outside elements if and when on job sites.
- Ability to navigate rough terrain without assistance (i.e. muddy, rocky job sites).
