Sourcing/Procurement Analyst

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sourcing/Procurement Analyst based in Canada.

This role offers the opportunity to lead strategic sourcing and procurement activities across a complex software environment.
You will manage sourcing events from requirements gathering through supplier evaluation and recommendation.
The position combines procurement expertise, data analysis, supplier management, and contract negotiation support.
You will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to develop sourcing strategies aligned with business and program objectives.
Your analysis and recommendations will help manage costs, mitigate supplier risk, and strengthen procurement outcomes.
The role also provides opportunities to improve processes, tools, workflows, and procurement best practices.
It is well suited to an experienced procurement professional who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Accountabilities
  • Lead and support sourcing activities across software categories, ensuring alignment with established category and procurement strategies.
  • Plan and execute end-to-end sourcing events, including requirements gathering, supplier evaluation, competitive analysis, and recommendation development.
  • Prepare and issue RFQs and RFPs, manage sourcing documentation and timelines, and ensure disciplined execution throughout the procurement lifecycle.
  • Evaluate supplier capabilities, analyze cost drivers and business data, and provide actionable recommendations to support sourcing decisions.
  • Support contract negotiations and risk mitigation activities in accordance with established procurement processes and requirements.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to define business needs, facilitate supplier meetings, resolve issues, and support early-stage supplier engagement.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation while ensuring compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve procurement workflows, data quality, tools, templates, and processes, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, operations, procurement, or a related discipline; equivalent relevant experience may be considered in place of a degree.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in sourcing, procurement, supply chain, operations, government contracting, or a related field.
  • Experience with contract negotiations, sourcing strategies, procurement processes, and supplier risk assessments.
  • Government procurement or government contracting experience is highly desirable, while candidates with strong transferable procurement experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at different levels.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to research, interpret, compile, and assess business and financial information.
  • Sound judgment and the ability to develop practical recommendations based on data, business requirements, and supplier analysis.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple purchasing and sourcing initiatives simultaneously.
  • Detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while learning new processes and tools quickly.
  • U.S. citizenship is required for this position.
