Job Description

Deal Desk / Renewals and Usage Expert

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Deal Desk / Renewals and Usage Expert based in Canada.

This is a high-impact Revenue Operations role combining deal desk expertise, renewals, pricing, licensing, and usage compliance.
You will act as a trusted advisor to Sales, Finance, Legal, Operations, and Customer Success teams, helping structure commercially sound and compliant agreements.
The role blends strategic analysis with hands-on execution, from pricing models and financial analysis to renewal readiness and contract management.
You will also identify licensing risks, support compliance assessments, and help protect intellectual property while maintaining strong customer relationships.
With significant cross-functional exposure, you will contribute to process improvements, automation, product launches, and revenue operations projects.
The position is ideal for an analytical and commercially minded professional who thrives in a fast-paced, multinational software environment.
You will have the autonomy to influence processes, advise senior stakeholders, and help shape scalable approaches to deals, renewals, and compliance.

Accountabilities:
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior Sales leadership, sales teams, and internal stakeholders on deal structures, pricing, contractual terms, and commercial strategy.
  • Develop innovative and commercially sound deal structures while balancing customer needs, business objectives, risk, and internal controls.
  • Provide deal financial modeling, pricing analysis, proposal support, and recommendations for strategic and complex opportunities.
  • Handle day-to-day transactional pricing requests and ensure compliant offers are delivered accurately and on time.
  • Partner with Sales, Legal, Finance, Accounting, Operations, and Product teams to optimize contract terms and drive deals through execution.
  • Support month-end and quarter-end deal closure activities, including the review of sophisticated and strategic transactions.
  • Create sales enablement resources and support training on pricing, positioning, product bundles, and commercial best practices.
  • Prepare renewal quotes and orders, ensuring alignment between customer entitlements, contract terms, usage data, licensing policies, and pricing models.
  • Conduct pre-renewal compliance reviews, identify discrepancies or true-up requirements, and ensure customers have the correct entitlements and access following renewal.
  • Serve as a liaison between Sales, Deal Desk, and Customer Success to ensure accurate usage and entitlement information throughout the renewal process.
  • Identify opportunities to improve renewal processes, reduce manual work, and support automation of usage and entitlement validation.
  • Collaborate with Product and Pricing teams on new products, packages, price books, and the mapping of legacy contracts to updated offerings.
  • Participate in UAT for system changes affecting renewals, pricing, and entitlement compliance, while helping internal teams adopt improved processes.
  • Lead or support licensing compliance activities, including customer assessments, product-use questionnaires, risk analysis, and resolution of non-compliance issues.
  • Analyze contractual, financial, licensing, and customer documentation to understand entitlements and identify relevant compliance risks.
  • Manage compliance engagements from initial customer interaction through assessment and close-out, negotiating appropriate resolutions with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain communication plans with business leaders and key stakeholders regarding upcoming assessments, risks, and results.
  • Take ownership of short-term Revenue Operations projects and provide coverage for other team members or open positions when required.
Requirements:
  • 3–5 years of experience in Deal Desk, pricing strategy, bid management, commercial finance, sales financial analysis, renewals, licensing, or a closely related field.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to interpret financial, contractual, usage, and commercial information.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy, compliance, and quality.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and credibly to stakeholders at different levels.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across Sales, Finance, Legal, Operations, Product, and Customer Success.
  • Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, and changing environment.
  • Experience working in a multinational or international organization is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in English across written, spoken, and reading communication; French language skills are an asset.
  • Experience with Dynamics 365, DealHub, or another CPQ platform is preferred.
  • Commercial understanding of SaaS products, pricing models, renewals, customer entitlements, or software licensing is highly valuable.
  • Ability to balance data-driven decision-making with commercial judgment and creative problem-solving.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously.
Benefits:
  • Flexible leave and paid time off policies.
  • Remote working opportunities and flexible work arrangements.
  • Global Wellbeing Days and additional wellbeing initiatives.
  • A culture built around trust, accountability, autonomy, and meaningful impact.
  • Professional growth and development opportunities, with access to tools, guidance, mentors, and experienced colleagues.
  • Supportive, high-performance, and inclusive international working environment.
  • Employee Resource Groups and initiatives supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Opportunities to contribute to sustainability and social-impact programs.
  • Potential exposure to international teams, strategic projects, and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Depending on customer assignments, the role may require security or background checks in accordance with applicable local laws.
