Senior Analytics Engineer

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer in Canada.

This role sits at the intersection of data engineering and data science, focused on building the foundational analytics infrastructure that powers Sales and Marketing decision-making at scale.
The Senior Analytics Engineer will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining robust data pipelines, models, and tools that enable self-service analytics across cross-functional teams.
The position directly supports business growth by improving data quality, automation, and accessibility for marketing campaigns, advertiser insights, and sales performance tracking.
It involves close collaboration with data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to translate complex data needs into scalable, reliable solutions.
The role also contributes to shaping long-term data strategy and promoting a strong data-driven culture within the organization.
This is a remote position based in Canada within a highly collaborative and data-centric environment.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead analytics engineering initiatives within the Sales and Marketing domain, ensuring high-quality, scalable data foundations
  • Design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for large-scale structured and unstructured data sources
  • Develop data models, aggregations, and datasets that support reporting, experimentation, and business decision-making
  • Create and maintain dashboards, reporting tools, and internal applications to enable self-service analytics
  • Partner with engineering teams to ensure reliability, performance, and governance of data pipelines and systems
  • Define and improve data architecture, ensuring consistency, scalability, and automation across workflows
  • Support data quality monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization of existing data systems
  • Collaborate with data scientists and business teams to translate analytical needs into technical solutions
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives around data democratization and analytics tooling adoption
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to other data practitioners across the organization
Requirements:
  • Advanced degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or related discipline
  • 4–5+ years of experience (PhD track) or 5+ years (Master’s track) in analytics engineering, data engineering, or similar roles
  • Strong experience building and maintaining large-scale ETL/ELT pipelines in production environments
  • Advanced programming skills in Python and SQL; familiarity with Spark, Scala, or similar technologies
  • Experience with data modeling, relational databases, and MPP database systems
  • Strong knowledge of data workflows and orchestration tools such as Airflow
  • Experience in data visualization and dashboarding tools such as Looker, Tableau, or similar platforms
  • Background in working with large-scale structured and unstructured datasets
  • Strong communication skills with ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams
  • Experience working in or supporting Sales and Marketing analytics is strongly preferred
  • Experience mentoring or guiding junior engineers or analysts is a plus
  • Strong ownership mindset with ability to work independently and drive initiatives end-to-end
