As a senior relationship specialist, you will serve as a trusted advisor for complex group benefits inquiries, account management activities, and post-sales support. You will collaborate closely with producers, advisors, and plan administrators to deliver strategic solutions and maintain long-term client partnerships. The position combines relationship management, problem-solving, and consultative support in a dynamic and client-focused environment. Accountabilities:
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, advisors, and group plan administrators regarding post-sales support and account management activities.
  • Handle complex inquiries related to group health and dental plans, contractual matters, billing adjustments, policy changes, and administrative updates.
  • Identify opportunities for cross-selling and premium growth while supporting client retention and long-term account success.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with producers, brokers, and stakeholders through proactive communication and consultative support.
  • Collaborate with Sales Consultants on advisor meetings, presentations, reporting, and strategic client initiatives.
  • Conduct virtual and in-person meetings to strengthen client relationships, address concerns, and deliver service excellence.
  • Maintain accurate records and producer information across CRM and internal systems, ensuring data integrity and operational efficiency.
  • Proactively resolve issues, recommend process improvements, and contribute to a positive client experience across all interactions.
Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of Group Health and Dental insurance products.
  • Proven experience in account management, client relationship management, or employee benefits services.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to deliver presentations confidently.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to independently manage complex client inquiries and recommend effective solutions.
  • Valid Alberta driver’s license and access to an insured vehicle.
  • Experience with Salesforce.com, Microsoft Office, Group Portal, or similar systems is considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with additional group insurance products such as Disability or Individual Insurance is preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as GBA (Group Benefits Associate) or CEBS (Certified Employee Benefit Specialist) are advantageous.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience within the employee benefits or insurance industry is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-focused mindset in a fast-paced environment.
