Total Rewards Specialist

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Total Rewards Specialist in Canada.

This role sits at the heart of a global HR function, supporting the design, analysis, and execution of compensation and benefits programs that drive employee engagement and organizational performance. You will contribute to the development of total rewards strategies that ensure internal equity, market competitiveness, and alignment with business objectives. Working closely with HR leadership, Finance, and business stakeholders, you will play a key role in annual compensation cycles, job evaluation processes, and pay equity management. The position combines strategic analysis with hands-on operational execution, requiring strong analytical capability and attention to detail. You will also support benefits administration, pension and insurance programs, and wellness initiatives. This is a highly collaborative role where data-driven insights directly influence workforce decisions and employee experience.

Accountabilities:

You will contribute to the design, implementation, and administration of compensation and benefits programs while ensuring fairness, compliance, and alignment with organizational strategy.

  • Participate in the annual compensation cycle, including salary reviews, bonuses, and total compensation statements
  • Manage job evaluation processes and support role classification and internal equity assessments
  • Provide compensation recommendations for new hires, promotions, and internal mobility decisions
  • Maintain and support the organization’s pay equity program in compliance with relevant legislation
  • Conduct market benchmarking and participate in compensation surveys to ensure competitiveness
  • Collaborate with Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and compensation planning cycles
  • Analyze and administer employee benefits programs, including insurance and pension plans
  • Support wellness initiatives and related HR programs to enhance employee experience
  • Partner with payroll teams to ensure accurate processing of compensation and benefits-related payments
  • Conduct research on compensation trends, policies, and best practices
Requirements:

This role requires strong experience in compensation and benefits analysis, combined with excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Actuarial Science, or related field
  • 3–5 years of experience in total rewards, compensation, or benefits roles
  • Strong knowledge of compensation structures, pensions, benefits programs, and pay equity principles
  • High proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools for compensation modeling and benchmarking
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines with accuracy
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work across departments
  • Strong collaboration skills and customer-service mindset
  • High level of autonomy and ability to work independently
  • Knowledge of U.S. benefits systems (e.g., 401(k), group insurance) is an asset
  • Professional certification (e.g., CHRA) is considered a plus
