In this role, you will play a critical part in managing and optimizing group benefits renewals for small employer clients. You will analyze plan performance, assess claims experience, and recommend renewal strategies that balance cost, coverage, and client satisfaction. Acting as a key liaison with advisors, you will negotiate outcomes, propose plan design enhancements, and ensure a smooth renewal process. This position offers the opportunity to leverage your analytical skills and technical knowledge in a fast-paced, client-focused environment, while making a direct impact on customer relationships and retention. Success will be achieved through careful attention to detail, proactive problem solving, and collaborative teamwork.
- Prepare, manage, and negotiate renewals for group benefit plans under 50 lives, ensuring accurate pricing and timely delivery.
- Analyze claims experience, plan performance, and rate history to develop renewal recommendations that align with client goals.
- Recommend plan design modifications and cost-control strategies to support client needs and long-term sustainability.
- Collaborate with Account Executives, providing insights and strategic guidance to strengthen client relationships.
- Present renewal results clearly to advisors and internal teams, explaining rate drivers, plan implications, and recommendations.
- Monitor internal systems to ensure all renewal data, rate changes, and plan updates are accurately captured and processed.
- Support efficient workflows by prioritizing tasks, escalating issues when needed, and ensuring renewals meet established timelines.
- Partner with internal teams such as underwriting, operations, and customer service to resolve issues or obtain necessary information.
- Fully bilingual in English and French to serve clients across multiple jurisdictions.
- Knowledge of group benefits products, underwriting concepts, and industry trends.
- College or university degree, or equivalent industry experience.
- CEBS Group Benefits Associate (GBA) designation or the ability to achieve it within 3 years.
- Strong negotiation, conflict management, and analytical skills.
- Excellent time-management skills, with the ability to multitask accurately and efficiently.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, SharePoint) and other relevant PC tools.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities.
- Exceptional problem-solving, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Flexible, empathetic, and collaborative approach to team and client interactions.
- Preferred: familiarity with group benefits systems, supporting services, and processes.
