This role is dedicated to ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and compliance of complex pension calculation systems used across Canadian and North American retirement plans. You will be responsible for designing and executing structured test scenarios that validate retirement benefit calculations within specialized software tools. Working closely with business analysts, functional leads, and technical teams, you will analyze requirements and ensure full test coverage of pension scenarios. The position offers strong exposure to diverse retirement plan types and calculation models, providing rapid skill development in a highly specialized domain. You will also play a key role in identifying calculation discrepancies, documenting anomalies, and supporting their resolution. In a collaborative and detail-driven environment, your work directly contributes to the integrity of financial outcomes for plan members and clients.
- Identify, design, and document comprehensive test scenarios to ensure full coverage of retirement calculation logic and pension plan rules.
- Execute and validate retirement benefit calculations using specialized pension calculation software tools.
- Analyze functional and technical documentation to ensure accurate interpretation of pension requirements and system behavior.
- Detect, document, and track calculation anomalies, supporting resolution with cross-functional technical and business teams.
- Maintain and update test suites to reflect system enhancements, regulatory changes, and evolving plan configurations.
- Collaborate with business analysts, functional experts, and development teams to clarify requirements and ensure testing alignment.
- Participate in review sessions, team meetings, and knowledge-sharing activities related to pension calculations and testing practices.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of testing methodologies, tools, and quality assurance processes.
- University degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in defined benefit pension plan administration in Canadian or U.S. contexts.
- Strong experience in pension calculation verification and/or pension plan implementation projects.
- Solid understanding of retirement calculation systems and associated business rules.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel for data analysis and calculation validation.
- Experience with Azure DevOps or similar work management tools is an asset.
- Knowledge of VBA or programming concepts is considered an advantage.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage priorities effectively.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong communication skills in French and English, with the ability to interact in bilingual professional contexts.
