The Corporate Controller will lead critical financial management activities, ensuring accurate reporting, strong controls, and effective integration of business operations. This role requires a balance of technical accounting knowledge, project leadership, and collaboration with distributed finance teams.
- Oversee the review and consolidation of month-end financial reporting deliverables from portfolio businesses.
- Support the financial integration of acquired companies, including system implementation, business combination accounting, and opening balance sheet audits.
- Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting activities for portfolio entities.
- Manage intercompany relationships, ensuring accurate documentation, reconciliations, and transaction processing.
- Partner with finance teams and business leaders on projects focused on reporting improvements, operational efficiency, and process optimization.
- Serve as an escalation point for complex IFRS accounting questions and technical accounting matters.
- Monitor completion of external audits and support audit readiness activities.
- Track debt covenant compliance and recommend appropriate actions when required.
- Support finance system implementations and promote best practices across accounting platforms.
- Ensure compliance with internal control processes, reconciliations, and financial reporting standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across finance operations and reporting processes.
The ideal candidate is a qualified accounting professional with strong technical expertise, audit experience, and the ability to operate effectively in a global, changing environment. You should be comfortable managing complex accounting topics while building relationships across multiple teams and locations.
- Qualified accountant with 5+ years of professional experience, combining audit and industry experience.
- Strong audit background with experience working in complex financial environments.
- Excellent technical accounting knowledge, including acquisition accounting and business combinations.
- Experience with financial integrations, process redesign, risk management, or finance transformation initiatives.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as NetSuite and financial control tools such as BlackLine is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills and advanced Excel capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across teams.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to build trust across distributed and multicultural teams.
- Curiosity, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous learning and knowledge sharing.
- Ability to work flexible hours when collaborating across international time zones.
- Portuguese or Spanish language skills are considered an asset.
