Clinical EMR Administrator in Concord, New Hampshire at Riverbend Community Mental Health, Inc.

Riverbend Community Mental Health is seeking a Clinical EMR Administrator who understands both behavioral health clinical practice and electronic medical record systems. This position will help ensure that Riverbend’s EMR workflows support high-quality client care, accurate clinical documentation, regulatory requirements, and efficient day-to-day operations.

The Clinical EMR Administrator serves as a key resource connecting clinical practice with EMR functionality. The successful candidate will bring direct knowledge of behavioral health services and understand how clinicians document care, manage caseloads, coordinate services, complete treatment plans, and meet clinical and regulatory requirements.

Working collaboratively with clinical programs, quality, finance, operations, and IT, this position will evaluate current workflows, identify opportunities for improvement, configure and test system changes, support users, and develop practical training resources.

This position will initially require full-time, on-site work at our Concord, NH office to allow the successful candidate to develop a thorough understanding of Riverbend’s clinical programs, workflows, and operational needs. A hybrid or remote work arrangement may be considered over time based on the employee’s demonstrated knowledge of these workflows, job performance, and the ongoing needs of the organization.

What You’ll Do

• Work with clinicians and program staff to understand how services are delivered and documented, then translate the clinical processes and requirements into practical, efficient EMR workflows.
• Evaluate existing workflows and recommend changes that improve documentation quality, user experience, compliance, and efficiency. Recommendations would include changes to templates, forms, assessments, workflows and other system components within the scope of the position.
• Participate in EMR enhancement, implementation, upgrade, and optimization projects.
• Develop test scenarios based on real-world clinical workflows and conduct thorough testing of system changes and software updates.
• Maintain accurate documentation of EMR configurations, workflows, testing results, and system changes.
• Identify and document workflow gaps, system issues, and user needs, and work collaboratively with internal departments and vendors to address them.
• Respond to and triage EMR-related support requests, distinguishing between system issues, workflow questions, training needs, and broader IT concerns.
• Develop clear training materials, workflow guides, and other user resources and provide individual and group training to clinical and administrative staff.
• Support accurate reporting and data collection by helping ensure that EMR workflows capture required clinical, quality, operational, and billing information.
• Stay informed about behavioral health documentation standards, privacy requirements, regulatory expectations, and changes affecting EMR use.
• Gather feedback from users and recommend practical improvements based on clinical needs and organizational priorities.

What We Are Looking For:

• Clinical knowledge: Direct experience working in behavioral health or a closely related healthcare setting, with an understanding of clinical service delivery and documentation.
• Clinical workflow expertise: The ability to evaluate how clinicians perform their work and translate those processes into effective EMR workflows.
• EMR experience: Experience using, supporting, configuring, testing, or optimizing an EMR/EHR system.
• Documentation and compliance knowledge: Familiarity with clinical assessments, treatment planning, progress notes, care coordination, confidentiality, and healthcare documentation requirements.
• Analytical skills: The ability to identify the source of a workflow or system problem, evaluate possible solutions, and test changes carefully.
• Communication skills: The ability to explain EMR processes clearly and provide patient, practical assistance to users with varying levels of technical experience.
• Collaboration: The ability to work effectively with clinical programs, quality, finance, operations, IT, and external vendors without direct supervisory authority.
• Organization and attention to detail: The ability to manage multiple assignments, maintain accurate documentation, and follow issues through resolution.

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, mental health counseling, behavioral health, population health, nursing, healthcare administration, or a related field required; master’s degree preferred.
• Relevant clinical and EMR experience may be considered in place of some educational requirements.
• Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in behavioral health, healthcare operations, clinical services, clinical informatics, or a related field preferred.
• Direct behavioral health clinical experience strongly preferred.
• Experience documenting services in an EMR/EHR system required.
• Experience supporting, configuring, testing, implementing, or optimizing an EMR/EHR system is strongly preferred.
• Behavioral health licensure or prior eligibility for clinical licensure is preferred but not required.
