Senior Production Planner

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Production Planner based in the United States.

The Senior Production Planner plays a key role in translating customer demand into efficient, achievable production plans.
You will manage daily, weekly, and monthly schedules while balancing materials, labor, equipment capacity, inventory, and service requirements.
Working closely with cross-functional stakeholders, you will identify constraints and proactively adjust plans to protect customer commitments.
Your analysis of planning KPIs will help leaders make informed decisions and identify opportunities for operational improvement.
You will also lead root-cause investigations and implement sustainable corrective actions across production and supply planning.
The role offers an opportunity to influence supply chain performance through ERP optimization, data analytics, and continuous improvement.
This is an on-site position in Waltham, Massachusetts, within a collaborative inventory and production planning organization.

Accountabilities:
  • Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules that balance customer demand, material availability, labor capacity, equipment utilization, inventory objectives, and service requirements.
  • Proactively manage and adjust production plans within Oracle to respond to changing demand, supply constraints, capacity limitations, and other business conditions.
  • Prioritize production orders and coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to minimize risks to customer commitments and overall operational performance.
  • Monitor planning effectiveness through relevant KPIs, developing, analyzing, and communicating performance reports to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Identify trends, gaps, and performance risks within production and material planning and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
  • Lead root-cause investigations into planning, supply, and production challenges and implement sustainable improvements to increase reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Review supply and planning parameters within ERP systems and recommend changes to planning attributes that can improve material availability and supply performance.
  • Drive and contribute to cross-functional initiatives focused on process improvement, system optimization, capacity enhancement, and broader supply chain excellence.
  • Collaborate with production, materials, supply chain, and other business stakeholders to ensure plans remain aligned with operational and customer requirements.
  • Manage multiple priorities and time-sensitive planning activities while maintaining accuracy, responsiveness, and consistent execution.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen production planning processes, improve on-time delivery, and optimize the use of operational resources.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in supply chain management, operations, business, engineering, or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of experience in production planning and material planning.
  • Hands-on experience with supply chain planning functionality within ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate and adjust planning parameters and attributes to improve supply availability and production performance.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret operational data, identify trends, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent data presentation and communication skills, with the ability to explain planning insights clearly to cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines, prioritize competing tasks, and manage multiple activities effectively in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion ERP for production or material planning is highly desirable.
  • Experience using Power BI to build reports, visualize operational data, and support decision-making is a plus.
  • APICS CPIM certification is advantageous.
  • Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis capabilities, with a continuous-improvement mindset.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across production, supply chain, materials, and other functional teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate schedules, data, and planning information.
