Position Summary
SourcePoint helps Delaware County adults 55 and better live safely at home and stay healthy as they age through in-home services, community programs, and caregiver support.
Volunteers are essential to fulfilling this mission, supporting services such as Meals on Wheels, transportation, and a wide range of community programs.
The Volunteer Engagement Specialist serves as the primary coordinator of the organization’s volunteer program, responsible for executing day-to-day operations including recruitment, onboarding, engagement, and recognition of volunteers.
This role is highly visible and community-facing, requiring an outgoing, organized, and responsive individual who can build relationships, represent SourcePoint professionally, and ensure a consistent and positive volunteer experience.
This is an execution-focused role responsible for implementing established processes and supporting program consistency across the organization.
Essential Job Functions
Community Engagement & Recruitment
- Serve as the primary public representative for SourcePoint’s volunteer program
- Recruit volunteers on an ongoing basis to meet organizational needs
- Attend and represent SourcePoint at community events and outreach opportunities
- Collaborate with internal departments to identify volunteer needs
- Maintain communication with Advancement team
- Communicate with volunteers and contribute to newsletters
Volunteer Onboarding & Coordination
- Coordinate all aspects of volunteer onboarding including interviews and placement
- Match volunteers to appropriate roles
- Ensure onboarding compliance with policies
Program Administration
- Maintain volunteer database and conduct audits
- Coordinate administrative volunteers and provide training
- Support staff with volunteer policies and procedures
- Assist with maintaining volunteer handbooks and documentation
- Prepare reports including mileage tracking
Volunteer Engagement, Retention & Recognition
- Foster a positive volunteer environment
- Track volunteer participation and milestones
- Coordinate recognition events with Events Specialist
- Support surveys and feedback collection
- Provide input on engagement improvements

Education & Experience

Working Conditions
- Prolonged sitting and/or standing
- Ability to travel to events
- Valid driver’s license required
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather
- Occasional lifting up to 20 pounds
