What is the Connection Leader Role?
The Connection Leader Role is a student leadership position focusing on student engagement and student activities. Connection Leaders report to the Student Life team, specifically the Student Life Coordinators. Connection Leaders form each campus’ Events Council with the primary responsibility of creating/hosting student focused events and fostering student engagement. The aim for a Connection Leader is to build community among students at Harrisburg University. Connection Leaders support social engagement, create events, and promote campus activities to new and current students. It includes Welcome Weekend Events, campus move-in support, and participating/leading in several student activities for the HU community. Connection Leader positions are available in both Harrisburg and Philadelphia campuses. They receive a stipend each semester.
Summary of CL Responsibilities:
- Assist with Move in for Fall 2025, in August 2025. (Mandatory - No Exceptions) (HBG Only)
- Organize and attend Welcome Weekend/Welcome Wednesday in August 2025. (Mandatory - No Exceptions)
- Attend CL Training during August 2025 (Mandatory - No Exceptions)
- Liaise with PHI facilities staff for event support. (PHI Only)
- Serve as a role model for all students and adhere to the HU’s Code of Conduct.
- Lead group activities for students during Welcome Weekend/Welcome Wednesday.
- Complete periodic check-ins with staff.
- Attend CL meetings that are deemed necessary.
- Plan and host events throughout the academic year to aid in student engagement and foster bonding between new and returning students within the HU community.
- Communicate with professional staff in a timely manner and check your HU email account.
- Assist with other University events.
- Duties will be assigned based off events and student interactions.
