Bucyrus Nutrition Route Manager – Senior Center Nutrition Program
Organization: Crawford County Council on Aging, Inc.
Location: Bucyrus, Ohio
Schedule: Full-time – 6:30 am-3:00 pm (Monday – Friday)
Reports To: Senior Center Director / Nutrition Program Coordinator

Through our Senior Nutrition Program, funded in part by the Older Americans Act, we provide nutritious meals and opportunities for social engagement that help seniors remain active and connected in our community.
Position Summary:
The Route Manager oversees the daily coordination and delivery of home-delivered meals to seniors. This role ensures routes are efficient, drivers and volunteers are supported, meals are delivered safely and on time, and program requirements are met. The Route Manager plays a key role in keeping seniors nourished, safe, and connected to services.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable working with seniors and understanding their needs.
- Proficient with basic computer systems, scheduling tools, and recordkeeping.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
- Proof of Automobile liability insurance.
- Ability to lift and carry meal containers as needed.
- Ability to read maps and operate GPS device/cell phone.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Combination of office and field work.
- Regular interaction with drivers, volunteers, and senior clients.
- May require occasional lifting of 35 pounds, bending, and walking.
- Plan, assign, and manage daily meal delivery routes for drivers and volunteers.
- Adjust routes as needed for new clients, temporary holds, weather conditions, or staffing changes.
- Supervise, train, and support nutrition drivers and volunteers.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers regarding schedules, route issues, and client concerns.
- Ensure meals are delivered safely, accurately, and within required timeframes.
- Track attendance, meal counts, route logs, and required documentation.
- Communicate with nutrition staff regarding meal changes, shortages, or special dietary needs.
- Respond to client concerns or wellness issues reported by drivers and follow established procedures.
- Ensure compliance with program guidelines, food safety standards, and funding requirements.
- Assist with emergency planning, weather closures, and service interruptions.
- Collaborate with program staff to improve efficiency and client satisfaction.
- Serve congregate meals at specified sites when necessary (Bucyrus or Galion).
- Must be willing to fill in as Head Cook and assist Head Cook, when needed.
- Must be willing to become Serve Safe Certified.
- Responsible for all other duties assigned by the Nutrition Coordinator.
