POSITION SUMMARY

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day human resources functions of Spring Run Golf Club. This hands-on position oversees employee relations, recruiting and onboarding, payroll and timekeeping, benefits administration, compliance, training, workers' compensation, and employee records.

Working closely with the General Manager and department leaders, the Human Resources Manager ensures consistent application of Club policies, provides responsive support to employees and managers, and helps maintain a positive, service-focused workplace culture.

The individual in this role must demonstrate sound judgment, confidentiality, professionalism, strong follow-through, attention to detail, and the ability to balance employee needs with Club policies and operational requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Human Resources Operations & Employee Relations

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee human resources questions and workplace concerns.
  • Partner with the General Manager and department leaders on employee relations, performance management, coaching, corrective action, and policy interpretation.
  • Conduct timely, objective investigations regarding employee complaints, workplace concerns, and policy violations.
  • Support employee engagement, recognition, retention, and workplace culture initiatives.
  • Conduct exit interviews and coordinate unemployment claims, leaves of absence, and related documentation.
  • Maintain open, professional communication with employees and leadership while handling sensitive matters with discretion.

Recruiting, Onboarding & Workforce Administration

  • Manage recruiting activities, including job postings, application review, interview coordination, offers, pre-employment screening, and hiring documentation.
  • Coordinate new employee onboarding and orientation and ensure required paperwork is completed accurately and timely.
  • Complete and maintain I-9 and E-Verify requirements for all new hires.
  • Coordinate and support the Club's H-2B workforce program and related employee documentation.
  • Maintain current job descriptions, personnel records, and employment files.
  • Partner with department leaders to anticipate staffing needs and support employee retention.

Payroll, Timekeeping, Compensation & Benefits Administration

  • Process bi-weekly payroll through Paylocity and ensure payroll is completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Review timecards, missed punches, overtime, paid time off, wage changes, deductions, bonuses, and other payroll adjustments prior to payroll finalization.
  • Administer employee benefit programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, retirement plans, and annual open enrollment.
  • Maintain accurate payroll, benefit, and personnel records and reconcile information with payroll and benefit vendors as needed.
  • Support annual compensation reviews and market comparisons in coordination with Club leadership.
  • Respond to employee questions regarding pay, timekeeping, benefits, and related HR programs.

Compliance, Policies & Risk Management

  • Maintain and update the employee handbook, HR policies, forms, and procedures.
  • Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, COBRA, HIPAA, OSHA, EEOC, Workers' Compensation, I-9, and E-Verify requirements.
  • Manage Workers' Compensation claims, incident documentation, and return-to-work coordination.
  • Coordinate with legal counsel, insurance providers, benefit vendors, and other outside partners on employment-related matters as needed.
  • Maintain confidential records related to employee relations, leaves, unemployment claims, disciplinary actions, and other HR matters.
  • Support workplace safety initiatives and assist with Safety Committee coordination and documentation.

Training & Professional Development

  • Coordinate new-hire orientation and recurring compliance, harassment-prevention, safety, and policy training.
  • Work with department leaders on performance improvement plans, corrective action, and employee development.
  • Support leadership training and employee development programs as needed.
  • Assist with annual staff meetings, orientation programs, and policy refreshers.
  • Track required employee training and maintain related records.

Systems & Administrative Support

  • Maintain employee information and data integrity within Paylocity and other HR-related systems.
  • Prepare HR, payroll, benefits, and workforce reports as requested by management.
  • Coordinate with HR, payroll, benefit, and insurance vendors to resolve employee or system issues.
  • Maintain organized and confidential electronic and paper personnel files.
  • Support additional administrative projects and responsibilities as assigned by the General Manager.
Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of progressive human resources experience; private club, country club, hospitality, or member-service experience preferred.
  • Hands-on payroll and benefits administration experience required; Paylocity experience preferred.
  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar certification preferred or actively being pursued.
  • Experience supporting H-2B or other seasonal workforce programs is a plus.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Strong employee relations, communication, conflict-resolution, and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of discretion and ability to manage confidential employee information.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly in payroll, benefits, and recordkeeping.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with department leaders and management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace; ability to learn NorthStar, DwellingLive, and other Club systems.
  • Professional attitude and appearance with a strong service orientation.
  • Ability to support and uphold Spring Run Golf Club's mission, standards, and service culture.
  • Positive, solutions-focused "can do" attitude.
