Job Summary:

Vitalis is looking for someone to fill a hands-on warehouse role with inventory coordination responsibilities. The Material Coordinator will work with Production, Warehouse, Purchasing, Engineering, and Quality to review upcoming manufacturing orders, confirm material availability, identify shortages, and coordinate staging. They will also maintain inventory accuracy in Odoo, investigate discrepancies, and ensure material movements are properly recorded. The role is approximately 60% material coordination and 40% inventory control. This position consists of spending time both at a computer and on the warehouse and production floors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review upcoming manufacturing orders and coordinate material requirements with production and warehouse teams.
  • Identify material shortages, follow up on outstanding orders, and communicate issues that could affect production.
  • Coordinate picking, kitting, staging, and material movement between our two facilities.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and material transactions in Odoo.
  • Perform cycle counts, investigate discrepancies, and help maintain accurate stock levels.
  • Work with Purchasing, Production, and Warehouse to adjust material priorities as schedules change.
  • Identify missing, late, or unavailable components before the planned production start.
  • Help improve material organization, inventory accuracy, and day-to-day warehouse processes.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • At least two years of relevant experience in material coordination, manufacturing inventory control, production support, or a closely related position.
  • Demonstrated experience using Excel, ERP, or MRP systems to review inventory availability, manage material movements, and support manufacturing or production orders.
  • Comfortable using computers, spreadsheets, and inventory management systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage several priorities independently.
  • Good attention to detail, particularly with part numbers, quantities, and inventory records.
  • Able to identify problems, follow up on outstanding tasks, and communicate clearly with other departments.
  • Willing to work both at a computer and on the warehouse and production floors.
  • Experience with Odoo, manufacturing orders, or bills of materials is an asset, but not required.

Working Environment and Physical Requirements:

  • This position works across both our facilities in Kelowna, which are a short distance from each other.
  • The role combines computer-based planning and inventory work with regular time on the warehouse and production floors.
  • The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with forklifts, some material-handling equipment, fabrication activities, and changing production requirements.
  • The position involves regular standing and walking between work areas, material handling, and adherence to all applicable safety procedures. Appropriate material-handling equipment and assistance must be used where required.

Benefits:

  • RRSP Matching Program
  • Extended Health, Vision, and Dental plan
  • Training and CPD allowances

If you have experience keeping manufacturing materials organized, maintaining accurate inventory records, and solving shortages before they affect production, we would like to hear from you!
