Job Description
This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Business Systems Program Manager in Canada.
This role sits at the intersection of strategy, operations, and technology, focused on bringing structure to a fast-growing SaaS tooling ecosystem. You will own visibility into the organization’s business systems landscape, ensuring tools are used effectively, not redundantly, and deliver measurable value. Acting as both advisor and builder, you will guide teams in selecting, evaluating, and renewing software with a strong focus on cost, impact, and governance. You will also design scalable frameworks that improve procurement, vendor management, and system oversight across departments. A key part of the role involves introducing automation and AI-driven workflows to reduce manual effort and surface better decision-making signals. This is a high-impact position where you will directly shape how the organization invests in and manages its software ecosystem.
- Own and optimize the organization’s SaaS and business systems portfolio, ensuring visibility into usage, cost, and value across all tools.
- Identify redundancy and overlap in tooling, and lead consolidation efforts to improve efficiency and reduce unnecessary spend.
- Act as a strategic partner to teams before procurement decisions, helping define success metrics, evaluate vendors, and assess long-term impact.
- Lead vendor governance and procurement processes, including contract review, renewal strategy, and negotiation support with Finance, Legal, and Security.
- Design and implement scalable frameworks for new tool requests, ensuring cross-functional evaluation and alignment with organizational priorities.
- Build and maintain systems, automations, and AI-powered workflows to track renewals, surface insights, and improve decision-making efficiency.
- Introduce vendor risk assessment practices, including AI-assisted review of contract terms and escalation pathways for high-risk agreements.
- Partner with leadership to drive strategic decisions on tooling architecture, consolidation, and investment priorities.
- 7+ years of experience in SaaS portfolio management, IT program management, procurement, or business systems strategy roles.
- Proven experience managing vendor governance, contract lifecycle processes, and enterprise tool ecosystems.
- Strong background in negotiating or supporting software contracts, including understanding of risk clauses and commercial terms.
- Experience building and scaling program management frameworks for renewals, tooling evaluation, and vendor oversight.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex SaaS portfolios and identify optimization or consolidation opportunities.
- Strong understanding of procurement processes and cross-functional collaboration with Legal, Finance, Security, and IT stakeholders.
- Hands-on experience using AI or automation tools to improve operational workflows is highly valued.
- Ability to operate in ambiguity and create structure where processes do not yet exist.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership.
- Competitive salary range with growth-based compensation progression
- Remote-first work environment across Canada, the U.S., and the U.K.
- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage
- Flexible PTO and paid holidays
- Strong focus on learning and development support
- Opportunity to shape enterprise-wide tooling and procurement strategy
- High-impact role with visibility across leadership and core business functions
- Collaborative, fast-moving environment focused on innovation and continuous improvement
- Exposure to AI-driven operational transformation initiatives
- Strong career development culture with regular growth conversations.
