Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Principal Product Manager based in Canada.
This senior product leadership role focuses on owning and evolving a global money-movement platform that powers large-scale financial transactions across fiat and crypto networks. You will define the long-term vision and architecture for how payment rails connect, route, and operate across multiple regions, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and cost efficiency. The role sits at the intersection of product strategy, payments infrastructure, and technical execution, requiring deep expertise in financial networks and platform design. You will lead cross-functional engineering teams to build and scale resilient systems that support high-volume transaction flows globally. This is a highly strategic and hands-on position where your decisions will directly shape network performance, compliance, and expansion into new markets. You will also act as a key external representative with financial partners, regulators, and ecosystem stakeholders.
- Define and own the global product strategy and multi-year roadmap for the money-movement and payment network platform.
- Design and optimize connectivity across fiat and crypto rails, including card networks, bank networks, custodians, and on/off-ramp partners.
- Lead engineering teams through full product lifecycle execution, including requirements definition, technical collaboration, sprint planning, and release delivery.
- Establish and manage routing logic, failover mechanisms, and system resiliency to ensure high availability and performance across networks.
- Own compliance alignment across jurisdictions, ensuring network rules and regulatory requirements are proactively integrated into product design.
- Represent the organization in external engagements with payment networks, banking partners, crypto infrastructure providers, and regulators.
- Drive experimentation and integration of AI-driven capabilities for routing optimization, fraud detection, and settlement efficiency.
- Act as the internal subject matter expert on global payment infrastructure, educating cross-functional teams and leadership.
- 8+ years of experience in product management within fintech or payments, including at least 3+ years owning platform or infrastructure products.
- Proven experience designing and operating payment network integrations across fiat systems (card networks, ACH, RTP, EMEA banking rails).
- Hands-on experience with crypto infrastructure, including stablecoin settlement, on/off-ramp systems, custody integrations, or blockchain-based payment flows.
- Strong track record of leading engineering teams through the full SDLC, including technical product ownership and delivery accountability.
- Deep understanding of payment routing, system resiliency, performance optimization, and network economics.
- Experience engaging with external stakeholders such as financial partners, scheme operators, or regulatory bodies.
- Strong executive communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical systems into clear business insights.
- AI-forward mindset with familiarity in applying data/ML-driven approaches to optimization (preferred).
- Strong ownership mindset, comfort with ambiguity, and ability to operate in high-growth, evolving environments.
- Competitive compensation with performance-based incentives.
- Fully remote work flexibility within Canada.
- High-impact leadership role with global product ownership and strategic influence.
- Opportunity to shape next-generation financial infrastructure spanning fiat and crypto ecosystems.
- Direct collaboration with executive leadership and cross-functional engineering teams.
- Exposure to cutting-edge innovations in payments, AI-driven optimization, and blockchain-based settlement systems.
- Strong autonomy and ownership in a fast-scaling, product-led environment.
