Senior Director, Product Sales

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Director, Product Sales based in United States.

The Senior Director, Product Sales will lead strategic growth and sales execution across the Research and Analytics portfolio within the Academic & Government segment. This high-impact leadership role will translate business strategy into actionable sales priorities and sustainable revenue growth. The position partners closely with senior executives and cross-functional leaders to strengthen customer engagement, operational performance, and market impact. The successful candidate will oversee multiple teams and drive accountability, consistency, and disciplined execution across the organization. This leader will use performance data and market insights to identify opportunities, solve complex business challenges, and shape long-term priorities. The role offers significant influence over organizational direction while building high-performing, collaborative, and continuously improving teams. Accountabilities:
  • Lead the development and execution of strategic product sales initiatives aligned with long-term business objectives and growth priorities.
  • Translate organizational strategy into clear, measurable objectives for teams and functional areas, ensuring consistent execution and accountability.
  • Partner with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to align departmental priorities, sales strategies, and operational plans.
  • Oversee activities across multiple teams or functional areas, promoting operational consistency, efficiency, and strong execution.
  • Drive sustainable sales performance by reinforcing disciplined sales practices, establishing clear expectations, and coaching teams toward revenue objectives.
  • Use performance metrics, operational data, and business insights to identify opportunities, address challenges, and implement improvements.
  • Provide strategic recommendations and forward-looking perspectives that influence organizational priorities, planning, and decision-making.
  • Lead large-scale, cross-functional initiatives within a complex and potentially matrixed environment, ensuring alignment and delivery against strategic goals.
  • Define and communicate a compelling long-term vision while maintaining alignment between executive priorities and team-level execution.
  • Build, develop, and retain high-performing teams by fostering collaboration, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish strong operational governance and performance management practices that support mid-term and long-term business results.
  • Maintain effective relationships with senior leaders, department heads, and key stakeholders to drive cohesive direction and organizational success.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience leading strategic initiatives, business operations, transformation programs, or similar responsibilities across multiple functions.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with senior leadership to align departmental goals with broader organizational strategy.
  • Proven experience leading teams across one or more functional areas and translating strategic priorities into actionable objectives.
  • Strong understanding of sales strategy, operational execution, performance management, and sustainable revenue growth.
  • Experience using business metrics, operational data, and analytical insights to identify opportunities and implement effective solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, large-scale, cross-functional initiatives in a matrixed or highly collaborative organization.
  • Strong strategic planning, organizational governance, and change leadership capabilities.
  • Excellent executive communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to provide clear direction, establish accountability, and motivate teams toward ambitious business objectives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and make data-informed decisions.
  • A collaborative leadership style with a demonstrated commitment to innovation, continuous improvement, and team development.
  • An advanced degree or equivalent executive-level business experience is preferred.

  • Base salary of $190,000–$205,000 USD annually, depending on experience, education, skills, expertise, and other relevant factors.
