• ABOUT THE ROLE:
• • . DBG is seeking a seasonal prep cook. This role provides crucial support during high-volume periods at DBG's kitchen operations. This temporary position focuses on food preparation, kitchen efficiency, and maintaining quality standards to support our meal service program. The role offers an opportunity to gain valuable culinary experience in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. This role reports directly into our Culinary Community Manager.
• COMPENSATION AND TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:
• • This is a seasonal position expected to last 6 months during our summer and fall programming, with potential for extension based on performance and organizational needs. This role is required to work all special events during summer and fall term (holiday events, community events. etc)
  • Job Type: Part-time (up to 25 hours a week), beginning Mid June through end of January
  • Schedule: 2pm-7pm
  • Pay: $20/hour
• RESPONSIBILITIES
• • Food Preparation
  • • ● Execute high-volume food preparation according to standardized recipes and portion guidelines
    • ● Process and prepare vegetables, fruits, and other ingredients with proper knife skills
    • ● Batch cook menu items according to daily production schedules
    • ● Prepare and portion snacks for service
    • ● Assist with assembly of grab-and-go meal items as needed
  • Operational Support
  • • ● Support meal service operations during peak periods
    • ● Maintain proper food temperatures and quality standards throughout preparation and service
    • ● Maintain cleanliness of food preparation areas throughout shift
    • ● Follow sanitation protocols for all equipment and work surfaces
    • ● Properly label, date, and store prepped food items
    • ● Assist with dish washing and kitchen cleanup as needed
    • ● Perform opening or closing duties according to assigned schedule

  • Qualifications:
  • • ● Previous food preparation experience preferred
    • ● Understanding of basic cooking techniques and kitchen equipment
    • ● Knowledge of food safety practices
    • ● Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
    • ● Availability to work during seasonal peak periods (specify: summer program, holiday events, etc.)
