Pizza Maker-Graze in Armada, Michigan at Blakes Payroll Group LLC

The Pizza Maker is responsible for preparing high-quality, made-to-order pizzas for our guests at Blake's for Graze. This role is critical to delivering a memorable food experience that reflects Blake's commitment to quality, freshness, and hospitality. The Pizza Maker works directly with customers and teammates in a fast-paced, weekend-driven environment, and must take pride in both the craft of pizza making and the overall guest experience.

This is a seasonal position, with staffing needs concentrated around Blake's peak weekend traffic. Because this role interacts directly with guests, it requires a positive attitude, reliability, and a strong sense of teamwork.

Responsibilities and Duties

Operations

• Prepare pizza dough, sauces, and toppings according to company recipes and standards
• Assemble and bake pizzas to order, maintaining consistency in quality, portioning, and presentation
• Monitor oven temperatures and cook times to ensure food safety and product quality
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation throughout each shift
• Follow all food safety, handling, and sanitation guidelines
• Communicate ingredient and inventory needs to the shift lead or manager
• Work efficiently during high-volume periods while maintaining quality and speed standards
• Collaborate with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth, timely service
• Provide friendly, attentive service to guests when interacting at the pizza station
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Education, Knowledge & Skills

• Previous kitchen, food service, or pizza-making experience preferred but not required; training provided
• Ability to work a consistent Friday–Sunday schedule throughout the season
• Strong attention to detail and consistency under pressure
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and reliability a must
• Ability to work as part of a team with minimal supervision
• Food handler's certification (or willingness to obtain one)
• Ability to lift and move up to 25–50 pounds

Working Conditions

This position is performed primarily in a kitchen environment, which includes exposure to heat from ovens and cooking equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be busy and fast-paced during peak hours. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to prepare and handle food for extended periods. Weekend work (Friday–Sunday) is required for the duration of the season.
