This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Compliance & Controls Manager, Growth based in United States.

This role offers the opportunity to help shape responsible growth strategies within a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
As a Compliance & Controls Manager, you will serve as a trusted first-line compliance partner, helping business teams innovate while managing regulatory risk.
You will collaborate closely with Marketing, Product, Legal, and Compliance teams to design scalable processes and enable compliant customer experiences.
The position combines regulatory expertise, operational excellence, and strategic partnership to support impactful business initiatives.
You will play a key role in building compliance frameworks, improving workflows, and creating solutions that balance innovation with consumer protection.

Accountabilities:

As a Compliance & Controls Manager, you will support business growth by embedding compliance practices into marketing, product, and customer experience initiatives. You will develop scalable processes, provide practical guidance, and help teams identify and manage regulatory risks effectively.

  • Review marketing campaigns, customer communications, partner materials, and product launches to ensure alignment with applicable consumer protection laws and regulations.
  • Partner with Marketing, Product, Legal, and second-line Compliance teams to provide risk-based guidance that supports informed business decisions.
  • Apply consumer protection frameworks, including UDAAP, Regulation B, TCPA, CAN-SPAM, and Fair Lending requirements, to evaluate customer journeys and business initiatives.
  • Build and scale first-line compliance operating models, including review frameworks, governance processes, procedures, and documentation.
  • Develop tools, checklists, and guidance materials to improve consistency, efficiency, and compliance review processes.
  • Identify recurring compliance risks and recommend operational improvements to strengthen risk management practices.
  • Support the responsible use of internal tools and Generative AI solutions to improve compliance workflows, research, and documentation.
  • Manage multiple compliance reviews and initiatives while balancing priorities, deadlines, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Translate regulatory requirements into practical recommendations that business teams can implement effectively.
  • Build strong relationships with cross-functional stakeholders and act as a trusted advisor on compliance matters.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a compliance professional with experience supporting regulated industries, strong knowledge of consumer protection requirements, and the ability to influence teams in a dynamic environment.

  • 7+ years of experience reviewing marketing, advertising, customer-facing content, or product initiatives for compliance purposes.
  • Experience working within banking, fintech, consumer lending, or another highly regulated industry.
  • Strong understanding of consumer protection regulations, including UDAAP and one or more of the following: Regulation B, TCPA, CAN-SPAM, or Fair Lending requirements.
  • Experience managing high-volume compliance reviews while supporting multiple concurrent initiatives.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with Product, Marketing, Legal, Risk, and Compliance stakeholders.
  • Ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and translate them into clear operational guidance.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience developing scalable processes, review frameworks, and compliance documentation.
  • Knowledge of secured lending products, including HELOC or similar consumer lending products, is a plus.
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled customer experiences, automated decisioning, or Generative AI compliance workflows is preferred.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders, build trust, and operate effectively in a fast-moving environment.
