This role offers the opportunity to lead marketplace growth strategies for a fast-growing wellness brand during a key phase of expansion. The position combines media leadership, marketing optimization, and marketplace operations to drive revenue, profitability, and customer growth. You will oversee strategic initiatives across major eCommerce platforms while partnering with internal teams, agencies, and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, operational expertise, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable business decisions. This is a high-impact contract role designed for an experienced marketplace leader who thrives in dynamic environments and can balance strategic vision with hands-on execution. You will help shape scalable processes, improve performance, and support continued growth across digital commerce channels.
The Interim Director will oversee marketplace strategy and execution across media, marketing, and operations, ensuring strong business performance, operational excellence, and alignment across teams. This role requires a leader who can manage complex initiatives, optimize digital performance, and provide strategic recommendations based on data-driven insights.
- Lead marketplace performance across major eCommerce channels, driving revenue growth, profitability, and operational improvements.
- Manage media planning, budgeting, campaign execution, and performance optimization through paid and owned marketing channels.
- Analyze campaign data, market trends, and customer insights to improve acquisition strategies and maximize return on investment.
- Partner with agencies and external vendors to establish priorities, monitor performance, and ensure delivery against business goals.
- Own marketplace operations, including inventory health, product portfolio management, account performance, and retail readiness.
- Develop executive-level reporting, business reviews, and strategic recommendations for leadership teams.
- Monitor key marketplace metrics, identify risks and opportunities, and implement initiatives to improve sales and efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve customer retention, product visibility, and long-term marketplace growth.
- Maintain high standards for compliance, account health, and operational excellence across marketplace platforms.
- Drive alignment across stakeholders, remove operational barriers, and ensure strategic projects are delivered successfully.
The ideal candidate is a strategic and analytical marketplace professional with extensive experience managing digital commerce, media, and retail operations. They should be comfortable leading cross-functional initiatives, influencing senior stakeholders, and combining strategic planning with operational execution.
- 8+ years of experience in eCommerce, marketplace management, integrated media, retail, or business operations.
- Strong knowledge of marketplace platforms, including Amazon Seller Central and Walmart Seller Center best practices.
- Proven experience managing agencies, external partners, and complex stakeholder relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to create executive presentations and communicate insights effectively to senior leadership.
- Strong analytical capabilities with experience using data to guide business decisions and performance improvements.
- Experience developing and executing integrated marketing campaigns across paid media and owned channels.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Excellent project management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong proficiency with productivity tools such as Google Suite and collaboration platforms.
- Experience working with analytics and reporting tools such as Tableau.
- Ability to combine strategic thinking with hands-on operational execution.
- Contract position with an expected duration of 6 months and a commitment of approximately 30–40 hours per week.
- Compensation range of $80–$100 USD per hour, based on skills, experience, qualifications, and business needs.
