This role supports government transformation efforts by helping organizations modernize their technology operations and improve how public services are delivered.
You will contribute to projects involving AI adoption, software implementation, IT governance, cybersecurity, and operational improvements.
Working across government partners, technology providers, and internal teams, you will help translate complex challenges into practical solutions.
The position combines research, project management, stakeholder engagement, and hands-on technology implementation.

The Associate, Technology will support the design and delivery of technology-focused transformation projects for government and nonprofit partners. This role combines analytical problem-solving, project execution, stakeholder collaboration, and technology enablement to help organizations adopt better tools, processes, and practices.
- Support the planning, research, and execution of technology transformation projects, including AI pilots, software implementations, IT governance initiatives, and operational improvement efforts.
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative research through interviews, surveys, process mapping, and policy reviews to identify challenges and opportunities.
- Create project deliverables such as work plans, project charters, dashboards, reports, process documentation, training materials, communication resources, and prototype solutions.
- Develop and test low-code/no-code tools, AI-enabled solutions, and digital workflows to improve organizational efficiency.
- Facilitate workshops, coaching sessions, and project meetings with government and nonprofit stakeholders.
- Provide implementation support by helping partners diagnose challenges, develop solutions, and adopt new technologies effectively.
- Manage project timelines, priorities, deliverables, and stakeholder communications in a remote environment.
- Monitor trends in government technology, emerging products, AI capabilities, and innovative operational practices.
- Build relationships with government leaders, technology providers, entrepreneurs, and community partners.
- Represent the organization at conferences and events while sharing insights and lessons learned from project work.
- Contribute to public-facing resources, templates, research publications, and best-practice materials.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and provide recommendations based on usability, performance, and business impact.
- Support internal operational improvement initiatives and contribute to the growth of technology-focused service offerings.
The ideal candidate is a proactive technology professional who can combine analytical thinking, project management skills, and strong communication abilities to support complex transformation initiatives. You should be comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and adapting quickly in a dynamic environment.
- Bachelor’s degree required, or equivalent professional experience and relevant certifications.
- 3+ years of experience in government technology, public sector consulting, technology implementation, or related fields.
- Experience supporting software implementations, AI pilots, or digital transformation initiatives within government or enterprise environments.
- Knowledge of state and local government operations, including areas such as permitting, licensing, budgeting, human resources, or public administration.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders independently.
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills, with the ability to create clear and engaging materials for varied audiences.
- Ability to break down complex problems and develop practical, creative, and scalable solutions.
- Experience with product management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, backlog management, or product roadmapping is preferred.
- Familiarity with UX research and design practices, including tools such as Figma or Miro, is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and related productivity tools.
- Experience using collaboration platforms such as Zoom, MailChimp, Miro, or similar tools.
- Comfortable using generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, or comparable platforms responsibly.
- Ability to test technology solutions, evaluate results, analyze feedback, and recommend improvements.
- Curiosity about emerging technologies and willingness to continuously learn new platforms and methodologies.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust, collaborate effectively, and support organizational change.
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed, including approximately six trips per year.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
