Position Overview
The Medical Director – Peabody Family Health Center acts in accordance with the Senior Medical Director, Director of School Based Health and the Salem and Gloucester Medical Directors to carry out all aspects of the medical services program. The Medical Director provides day-to-day administrative support and coordination of the Health Center's activities. The Medical Director consults with and advises the Senior Medical Director, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Operations Officer and the Chief Executive Officer on problems relating to the operation of health center facilities and recommends changes in administrative policies to carry out objectives of North Shore Community Health, more effectively.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Provide patient care.
· Direct and coordinate identified medical and related activities
· Assist in establishing standards of medical services
· Advise the Senior Medical Director, Senior Management team and Leadership Team on medical and administrative activities
· Plan and direct staff conferences and in-services for instructional purposes
· Participate in the recruitment and selection process for medical providers
· Facilitate medical staff/provider meetings, in conjunction with the Senior Medical Director
· Collaborate with the CMO to conduct peer reviews for all medical staff focusing on quality of care and appropriate coding
· Help to guide production, approval and implementation of medical practice procedures, protocols and policies
· In conjunction with the Director of operations and site supervisor, manage provider schedule for Peabody Family Health Center and Saturday patient care hours
· Collaborate with the Senior Medical Director and other Medical Directors on grant-specific projects, including the development of a work plan, monitoring quality measures, and implement measures to improve outcomes related to various clinical measures
· Provide clinical leadership for utilization of the DRVS data system
· Serve as Site Sponsor and oversee activities of the LEAN team
· Collaborate with Dental Director around efforts to improve integration of Medical and Dental departments
· Supervise special projects as agreed upon
Requirements:Required Skills and Abilities
· Demonstrated leadership and management skills with the ability to supervise staff and guide teams
· Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Strong organizational, planning, and project management abilities with attention to detail
· Ability to mentor staff, develop processes, and implement innovative solutions in a healthcare setting
· Ability to work collaboratively with senior leadership, medical staff, and other interdisciplinary teams
· Ability to participate in and lead peer reviews, staff conferences, and in-services
· Competence in utilizing data systems for quality monitoring and clinical improvement initiatives
· Capacity to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, maintaining cultural competence and professionalism
Education & Experience
· MD or NP with a current Massachusetts license
· Minimum of five (5) years of experience as an MD or NP in an ambulatory care setting; experience in a Community Health Center preferred
· Minimum of three (3) years of management or supervisory experience preferred
· Proven experience managing and leading projects within a healthcare setting
· Knowledge of Quality Improvement concepts, methodologies, and activities
· Experience with clinical practice procedures, protocols, and policies
· Experience with culturally diverse patient populations; fluency in Spanish is a plus
· Competency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with GE Centricity or similar EHR systems is a plus
Work Environment Conditions
· This position operates in a professional, fast-paced, and collaborative environment.

Physical Requirements
· Occasional lifting of materials (e.g., boxes, equipment) weighing up to 50 pounds
· Ability to sit or stand at a desk for extended periods, with consistent use of computers and telephones
· May be required to travel to multiple sites within a single day
