Job Description

The Accommodation Specialist is responsible for leading and managing the full interactive process for employees and applicants requiring workplace accommodations. The specialist is the lead resource for accessibility and disability nondiscrimination regulations. This role serves as the primary point of contact for ADA and PWFA related requests, ensuring timely, compliant, and well-documented evaluations in alignment with federal, state, and company policies. The Accomodation Specialist partners closely with employees, leaders, HR Operations, and medical providers to implement effective accommodations that support business operations and employee success.
Annual Salary Range: $65,686.40 - $96,886.40
Qualifications
Education:
  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or related field; or an equivalent combination of training and progressively responsible experience that will result in the required specialized knowledge and abilities to perform the assigned work.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience administering ADA or PWFA accommodations and managing the full interactive process in an HR, Employee Relations, Leave/Disability, or Occupational Health setting.
Certification/Licensure:
  • Prefer professional certification (e.g., SHRM‑CP/SCP, PHR/SPHR, CCP, or leave/disability‑related credentials)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Extensive knowledge of the leave requirements and other legal protections afforded by the FMLA, ADA, PWFA, and other applicable laws.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must exhibit a high degree of professionalism and enthusiasm, combined with the ability to build relationships with business and key stakeholders.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with people at all levels with respect.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Must be able to work in-office and travel to all Valleywise Health locations.
