Job Description

Description:

evo is a leading multi-channel retail brand that stands at the intersection of community, commerce, adventure sports, and the outdoor lifestyle. We offer a distinctly curated product assortment, and highly crafted customer experiences. At evo, we define success differently than most, balancing three goals equally: 1) Building an iconic brand and business; 2) creating an extraordinary place and path for our team; and 3) leveraging our success to drive community impact. We are a company driven by our purpose and values, with a collective passion for community, sports and lifestyle, and a drive to together build something that lasts and matters.

THE JOB

The Experienced Boot Fitter is the technical authority in the boot lab, handling the most complex fit problems and delivering premium 1:1 Signature Fit appointments. In addition to the full evo Boot Fit process, this role performs advanced shell and liner work, builds and fits custom footbeds, and resolves fits that other team members escalate.

The Experienced Boot Fitter delivers evo’s guest promise: comfort, control, and confidence, and the best fitting ski or snowboard boot, guaranteed.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO

  • Build genuine connections with customers during premium 1:1 appointments, booked appointments, and walk-up interactions, addressing complex ski and snowboard boot needs and problems.
  • Deliver the evo Boot Fit process end to end: assessment, fit check, adjustments, and customization.
  • Own premium 1:1 Signature Fit appointments, including full biomechanical assessment, alignment work, and a documented fit plan.
  • Serve as the escalation point for fits other team members cannot resolve, including warranty and problem-fit cases.
  • Perform advanced boot work, including shell molding, shell punching, shell grinding, foam work, liner modification, canting and alignment (if applicable), and buckle replacement.
  • Build and fit custom footbeds, and install boot heaters and booster straps.
  • Assist customers in selecting appropriate ski and snowboard equipment, including boots, skis, snowboards, and bindings, based on their needs and ability.
  • Present optional upgrade packages and a la carte options where the customer’s fit goals and comfort needs warrant them, always leading with the right fit rather than the upgrade.
  • Clearly explain what is included free with a boot purchase versus what is a paid upgrade, so customers can make an informed choice.
  • Schedule and complete follow-up appointments and warranty-related fit adjustments.
  • Own the boot lab: maintain tools, equipment, and supplies, and uphold safety and quality standards.
  • Provide training, development, and support to other boot fitters, including hands-on coaching and review of their fit work.
  • Participate in and help lead training sessions and clinics to enhance team product knowledge and technical boot fitting skills.
  • Offer additional assistance as a retail associate, including cleaning, working at the front counter, and applying visual merchandising standards.
  • Consistently provide exceptional customer service that reflects evo’s core values and the evo customer service philosophy.
  • Actively participate as a representative of the company at events and volunteer opportunities in the local community.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Perks of Working Here:

  • A free winter seasons pass
  • Vacation paid time off accrued based on tenure
  • 40 hours of Volunteer Paid Time Off annually
  • Competitive salary wage based on the role and experience with the potential for increases based on performance
  • Charitable giving match
  • Deep discounts on a new ski or snowboard setup each year
  • Employee discounts across our vast assortment of brands and products
  • Team ride day and events
  • Opportunities to get hands-on experience with new gear
  • And many, many more...
Requirements:

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TEAM

Demonstrated ability to independently assess fit needs, select appropriate boots, construct custom footbeds, perform advanced shell and liner modifications, and resolve complex fit concerns. Typically, two or more seasons of hands-on boot fitting experience, or equivalent demonstrated proficiency.

  • Knowledge of foot anatomy, functional mobility and stance as they relate to boot fit and performance, and confidence using boot lab equipment safely.
  • Sidas Academy, Masterfit, evo internal training or comparable boot fitting education is preferred. Equivalent practical expertise is welcome; role placement is based on demonstrated proficiency. Additional Sidas training and certification is supported by evo as applicable.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and coach teammates with patience and constructive feedback.
  • A welcoming, patient approach to guest service and the ability to listen before recommending a solution.
  • Attention to detail, sound judgment and a commitment to quality work.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with teammates.
  • Ability to stay organized and communicate clearly in a busy retail environment, with comfort using appointment booking, customer record and point of sale tools; related experience is preferred.
  • Availability for scheduled shifts during peak season, including weekends and holidays, and for occasional local travel to training, clinics and community events where required.
