About This Position

Overview:

Catholic Cemeteries Associated, a ministry of the Diocese of Kansas City ~ St. Joseph, is currently in search of a full-time Sales/Family Service Counselor. This motivated and energetic individual will be responsible for informing and assisting individuals and families in our faith community with their burial requirements, either at the time of need or on a pre-need basis. The Family Service Counselor will be based at our Mt. Olivet office, 7601 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64138. They will be required to work at the three Kansas City Missouri Catholic Cemeteries: Mt. Olivet, Mount St. Mary’s, and Resurrection.

Responsibilities

  • Meets either in-home or at one of the Catholic Cemeteries in Kansas City Missouri, to ensure that individuals and families are presented with all options pertaining to interment, cemetery property, and related merchandise and services.
  • Maintains positive and proactive communication and cooperation with all funeral homes, departments, and team members to ensure a smooth service process for the individual or family.
  • Ensures quality service levels, schedules and conducts aftercare appointments, handles complaints, completes post-interment service activities, and performs other duties as necessary.
  • Fosters community-based relationships and develops potential referrals, makes presentations at business locations, homes, and public community events: highlighting merchandise, services, and the benefits of pre-need arranging.
  • Ensures compliance with all state and federal regulations and in accordance with Cemetery policies and procedures.
  • Completes required paperwork, insures proper internment verification process ensuring compliance with all cemetery regulations and in accordance with Cemetery policies and procedures.
  • Maintains positive and proactive communication and cooperation with all funeral homes, departments, and team members to ensure a smooth service process for the family.
  • Reports all progress to the General Manager as directed, completing and submitting all required reports in a timely manner.
  • Complies with all Cemetery procedures for customer service when working with families, handling complaints, completing post-interment service activities, and performing other duties necessary to ensure quality service levels.
Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, an undergraduate degree in a related field preferred
  • Proven track record of success in Sales Production strongly preferred
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license in good standing and acceptable driving record
  • Computer proficiency with Email, MS Excel, and Word
  • Must work Memorial holiday weekend
