The Auto Mechanic plays a vital role in keeping our fleet safe, reliable, and ready to serve the community. This position is responsible for the maintenance, inspection, and repair of company vehicles to ensure they meet safety and performance standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Performing routine and preventative maintenance
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues
- Ensuring all vehicles remain operational and road-ready
- Supporting occasional off-site needs, such as assisting with breakdowns or retrieving company vehicles within a limited geographic area
This role directly supports EMT’s mission by ensuring every passenger can travel safely and comfortably.
Education- High school diploma or equivalent
- Vocational training in automotive repair preferred
- Automotive repair training
- 2–3 years of experience as an auto mechanic, ideally in a fleet or commercial vehicle environment
- Provide your own hand tools required to perform repairs
- Proficient with diagnostic equipment and tools
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- ASE certification and Missouri State Inspector certification desirable
- Missouri State Inspector certification
- Current valid driver’s license
