Accounting Assistant at Baltimore Symphony Orchestra – Baltimore, Maryland

The Accounting Assistant works as directed by the Controller. This role will support the accounting department in day-to-day operations, including assisting accounts payable, Instrument insurance project & cash deposits & check log and other projects as needed.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist in processing Accounts Payable transactions accurately and timely
• Copy & distribute check activity to Advancement
• Complete check log weekly
• Complete Cash Flow bank detail weekly
• Distribute & track instrument insurance payments
• Assist with ad hoc reports, projects, and other accounting tasks as needed

Qualifications:

• Prefer Associates degree in Accounting, Finance, related field, or certifications in Accounting/Finance.
• 1-3 years of finance experience
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Proficient on Excel and Accounting software, Sage Intacct a plus.
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and organizational skills
