About This Position
Description:
We are seeking an experienced Collections Specialist to join our Patient Services team in Addison, TX. This role is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of infusion medical claims and works closely with clinical and intake teams to ensure complete documentation and clean claim submission. The ideal candidate has strong healthcare billing experience, excellent attention to detail, and a deep understanding of payer guidelines and reimbursement processes.
Key Responsibilities- Review electronic medical records (authorizations, benefit verifications, physician orders, and clinical notes) to prepare and submit clean medical claims
- Submit electronic and manual medical claims in compliance with payer requirements
- Research, resolve, and resubmit rejected or denied claims to ensure successful reimbursement
- Perform daily review and follow-up of unbilled appointments in scheduling and ready-to-bill queues
- Collaborate closely with Intake and Nursing departments to ensure billing accuracy and timeliness
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and company policies
- Stay current with billing regulations, payer updates, and reimbursement guidelines
- Assist with additional tasks and special projects as assigned
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 5 years of healthcare billing or revenue cycle experience required
- Experience with a infusion company required
- Strong knowledge of healthcare reimbursement, third-party payer regulations, and medical terminology
- Proficiency with ICD-10 coding
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information in compliance with HIPAA
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
