Position Description:

Are you ready to build a career where keeping others safe truly changes lives?

We’re seeking a Psychiatric Safety Officer to join our team and help create a secure, supportive environment for individuals in our care. This role goes beyond traditional security work—you’ll be part of a team that protects, supports, and helps others during critical moments.

What You’ll Do

  • Monitor facility safety, from perimeter checks to daily interactions with individuals served
  • Respond quickly to emergencies, helping de-escalate behaviors and ensure safety
  • Supervise and support individuals served, preventing elopements and maintaining accountability
  • Operate and monitor communication and surveillance systems (CCTV, alarms, radios, alarms, etc.)
  • Search for contraband and enforce safety standards throughout the facility
  • Greet and verify visitors, monitor entry/exit points, and oversee vehicle traffic on grounds
  • Provide safe, secure transportation to off-site appointments, court, or specialized care
  • Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Experience

  • Must meet minimum age requirements as defined by state licensing authority or contract (required)
  • Prior experience in security, public safety, or healthcare preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite preferred
  • Licenses/Certifications

  • Valid state driver’s license with a favorable driving record (required)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any client-mandated certifications and/or training
  • Why Join Us

At our core, we believe safety is the foundation of healing. As a Psychiatric Safety Officer, you’ll play a vital role in protecting both individuals served and the staff who care for them. You’ll gain hands-on experience in crisis management and de-escalation, build strong professional skills, and contribute to a team that values trust, adaptability, and integrity. This isn’t just a job—it’s a chance to make a meaningful impact every day while growing your career in a supportive environment.

In addition to comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, paid time off, and 401k, we foster a work, life balance for team members and their family to support physical, mental, and financial wellbeing, including:

  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) including free counseling and health coaching

  • Discount and reward programs for Theme Parks & Attractions, Hotels, Rental Cars, Water Parks, Virtual Events & Shows, Movie Tickets, Gift Cards, and more.
