Job Description

Position Summary: The Hospitality Supervisor serves as an ambassador for Resident and family relations, responsible for the day-to-day hospitality services. Hospitality plays a pivotal role in making the dining, social, housekeeping, laundry, and recreational experiences within Pioneer filled with meaning, memory, and relationships. Ensuring the emotional, social, physical, mental, and spiritual needs of residents are met. The Hospitality Supervisor supports, educates, and guides staff to have a successful experience. Supervisor provides honest and timely feedback to staff through regular check-ins and on-the-job training.

Responsible to: The Hospitality Supervisor is responsible for reporting to the Director of Operations of Lloydminster Region Housing Group (LRHG). The Hospitality Supervisor may periodically be assigned duties not outlined below.

Qualification Skills, and Abilities:

  • Grade 12 Diploma or recognized equivalent is required.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak fluently in English.
  • Supervision/leadership/educator/resolution/investigation experience required.
  • First Aid and CPR an asset
  • Personal skills and traits that convey a desire to care for people.
  • Patience, active listener skills, effective verbal, and non-verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrates efficient and effective organizational skills.
  • Flexibility and a willingness to modify role duties for the overall good of LRHG and the residents/tenants.
  • Ability to provide mentorship, education, and additional support to employees.
  • Demonstrates an awareness/knowledge of the importance of health and safety; accident and injury prevention; and adheres to safe work practices and procedures.
  • Proficient in the use of computers, specifically Microsoft Office 365.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with all service areas.
  • Planning special guest events.
  • Planning volunteer participation, including volunteer orientation and recognition.
  • Planning resident-directed added services to address an unmet need.
  • Facilitate resident-initiated projects.
  • Facilitate effective two-way communication and interactive problem solving.
  • Apply the concern resolution process in a timely manner and responding as appropriate with required investigations. [LL1]
  • Liase with external support professionals
  • Applying for funding/grants.
  • Meet and greet new residents; Resident orientation, inspection report, and exit interviews.
  • Facilitate resident council meetings and gather resident/family feedback.
  • Attend educational workshops as needed.
  • Be an active member of committees such as OHS, Labour Relations etc.
  • Maintain Hazard assessments for Recreation, Laundry, and Housekeeping.
  • Maintain WHMIS standards and SDS sheets for all products used in the departments.
  • Exploratory research for safe environment standards.
  • Review annually and update policies and procedures as they relate to recreation, housekeeping, and laundry services.
  • Maintain compliance with standards, ensuring records are prepared for auditors.
  • Provide orientation, mentorship and education as required.
  • Work with Human Resources to maintain staffing levels, including attending to interviews, selection, and retention.
  • Manage schedule changes to maintain coverage for unexpected time away (illness).
  • Manage approvals to maintain coverage for scheduled time away (vacation).
  • Provide time sheet approvals for accurate payroll run.
  • Work with Human Resources for appropriation of modified work agreements.
  • Document and track service goals for recognition, discipline, and/or dismissal.
  • Supervise work (area checklists, tasks, etc.).
  • Ensure training and evaluations are complete as per HR requirements.
  • Ordering/receiving; maintaining inventory levels, adhering to budget.
  • Promoting team building through participation and/or leadership at regular staff meetings (biannual) and during team huddles.
  • Participate in the On-Call process as it is amended from time to time.
  • Performs other services/tasks/duties related to hospitality services as assigned by the Director of Operations.
