Job Description
Summary: The Director of Training and Organizational Development is responsible for the strategic planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of organizational learning, leadership development, and workforce planning initiatives across the health system. This position partners with leadership to assess organizational needs, enhance employee performance, support change management initiatives, and foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth. The Director oversees training programs, leadership development, onboarding initiatives, succession planning, and organizational effectiveness strategies aligned with the mission, vision, and operational goals of the organization.
Education/Licensure: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field required. Will consider relevant prior experience in lieu of degree. Master’s Degree preferred. Professional certifications such as SHRM-SCP, SPHR, CPTD, or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
- Five (5) to seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in organizational development, training, leadership development, or human resources required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of leadership or management experience preferred.
- Experience within a healthcare environment preferred.
- Experience designing and implementing leadership development and employee engagement initiatives.
- Experience facilitating training programs and organizational change initiatives.
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with executive leadership, management, and staff at all organizational levels.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, leadership development, and organizational effectiveness practices.
- Ability to analyze workforce development needs and implement strategic learning solutions.
- Strong coaching, mentoring, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
- Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and learning management systems (LMS).
Working Conditions, Physical Environment and/or Safety Requirements:
Visual acuity and hand dexterity. Physical ability involves a variety of body movements including stooping, bending, kneeling, standing, walking, twisting, stretching, and reaching. Requires prolonged sitting, computer usage, and occasional lifting of training materials and equipment up to 25 lbs. Travel between facilities may be required.
