This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Member Engagement Specialist based in the United States.
This is a fully remote opportunity focused on building meaningful connections with prospective members and helping them access specialized health management support.
You will engage individuals through multiple communication channels, explain program benefits, and build the trust needed to encourage enrollment.
The role combines customer engagement, education, relationship building, and performance-driven outreach within a healthcare environment.
You will use empathy and active listening to understand individual concerns, overcome barriers, and communicate solutions in a personalized way.
Strong attention to privacy and compliance is essential when working with protected health information and member records.
You will also collaborate with internal teams to share feedback and improve engagement strategies and outreach processes.

- Proactively contact prospective members through multiple communication channels to explain program benefits and encourage enrollment.
- Build rapport and trust with members through active listening, empathy, personalized communication, and a respectful approach.
- Consistently achieve engagement targets established through departmental performance metrics.
- Educate prospective members about the value of program participation and address questions, concerns, and barriers to enrollment.
- Represent the organization with a positive, professional, and engaging approach in every interaction with prospective members and internal stakeholders.
- Handle protected health information responsibly and maintain accurate member records in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements, including HIPAA, security, and privacy guidelines.
- Document member interactions accurately and ensure relevant concerns or feedback are communicated to leadership when appropriate.
- Collaborate with internal teams to share member feedback and identify opportunities to improve outreach strategies and engagement outcomes.
- Adapt communication approaches to different audiences, needs, concerns, and levels of health-related understanding.
- Participate in other activities and responsibilities as needed to support team and business objectives.
- Travel occasionally when required by business needs.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or a degree is preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience in sales, customer service, member engagement, or a related field.
- Experience in healthcare, wellness, population health management, or a similar environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems and contact center software is an advantage.
- Ability to work effectively in a fully remote, hybrid, or in-person environment while maintaining appropriate standards for handling protected health information.
- Availability to work Pacific or Mountain time zone hours is required for this remote position.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or adjusted schedules to maximize member outreach opportunities is preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency is preferred.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences.
- Strong persuasion and negotiation skills, combined with the ability to understand and respond to individual member needs.
- Confidence in addressing objections and overcoming enrollment barriers while maintaining compassion, empathy, and respect.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly when managing multiple tasks and maintaining member records.
- Ability to perform effectively in a performance-driven environment and consistently work toward engagement goals.
