Job Description


HR Business Partner

The HR Business Partner will perform value-added service to management and employees in support of organizational objectives. The individual will foster and support our collegial and collaborative workforce and culture. As an individual contributor, the HRBP will provide coaching, counseling, and mentorship for employees and management.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Assist hiring managers with screening of applicants.
  • Onboard and new hire orientation to new employees.
  • Plan and execute employee engagement and recognition programs, including service-award and milestone recognition, firm events, and volunteer or community activities.
  • Run periodic engagement or pulse surveys
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Identify and deliver HR-related training to employees and managers.
  • Maintain current knowledge of employment-related legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Manage employee relations issues. Conduct thorough and objective investigations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience resolving employee relations issues.
  • Experience in a law firm or professional services environment preferred.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
  • Working knowledge of New Jersey and Pennsylvania employment law, including NJLAD, wage and hour, and leave statutes.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
