Responsibilities
As a Private Wealth Director with Hines, you will serve as a senior private wealth distribution professional responsible for advancing advisor relationships, facilitating advisor meetings, and helping close business within an assigned firm, institution, or territory. Partnering with Internal Sales Leadership, Private Wealth Regional Director and Private Wealth Consultant, the Private Wealth Director will play a lead role in developing territory strategy, identifying high-value advisor opportunities, conducting consultative product and market discussions, and raising capital through financial intermediaries in the RIA, wirehouse, bank, and broker-dealer channels. The role requires ownership of advisor engagement, virtual and in-person meeting execution, business-development strategy, territory travel, opportunity management, and relationship advancement.
- Develop and execute territory sales strategies to increase revenue, market share, advisor engagement, and adoption of Hines products and services.
- Lead advisor meetings, branch meetings, training sessions, due diligence discussions, and business-development activities both virtually and in person.
- Travel within the assigned territory to support key advisor relationships and advance opportunities.
- Build and manage relationships with advisors, gatekeepers, firm leaders, and financial intermediary partners while advancing qualified opportunities through the sales process in a compliant and consultative manner.
- Partner with internal sales leadership, Regional Directors, and Private Wealth Consultants to prioritize opportunities, coordinate meetings and follow-up, and execute territory coverage and engagement strategies.
- Assess advisor needs, market conditions, platform dynamics, and competitive positioning to tailor product education, portfolio discussions, market commentary, and business-development support.
- Manage territory activity, pipeline, CRM data, travel schedules, and resource allocation to optimize sales effectiveness, advisor engagement, and business results.
- Maintain knowledge of market trends, competitor activity, and distribution developments to recommend strategic adjustments and improve territory performance.
- Identify and escalate potential compliance, suitability, operational, or product-related concerns while ensuring adherence to all applicable policies, regulations, and ethical standards.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance advisor experience, increase productivity, and improve operational efficiency.
- Serve as a senior resource and mentor to internal sales team members by sharing best practices and supporting training and development initiatives.
- Prioritize advisor relationships, territory opportunities, meetings, travel, and follow-up strategies based on business potential and strategic alignment.
- Recommend territory plans, advisor segmentation, resource allocation, and engagement strategies to support business objectives.
- Determine when to involve internal stakeholders, including Regional Directors, product specialists, compliance, investor relations, marketing, operations, or senior leadership, to advance opportunities or resolve issues.
- Interpret advisor feedback, sales data, market trends, and competitive intelligence to provide strategic recommendations to leadership.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements include:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required.
- SIE, Series 7, and Series 63 required
- CAIA, CIMA, CFP, CFA, or other investment-related designation preferred.
- Five or more years of experience in financial services sales, private wealth distribution, intermediary sales, asset management, alternative investments, wholesaling, or a related role.
- Demonstrated track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales goals, activity targets, or business-development objectives.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise sound business judgment, and collaborate effectively with external wholesalers, internal partners, and senior leadership.
- Superb written, verbal communication, presentation, advisor education, and relationship-management skills.
- Knowledge of private wealth distribution, advisor practice models, capital markets, real estate, alternative investments, REITs, and Hines products and services, with the ability to effectively communicate complex investment concepts to sophisticated financial professionals.
- Strong relationship-management, consultative selling, negotiation, and business-development skills, including the ability to lead advisor meetings, deliver presentations, address inquiries, and advance sales opportunities.
- Ability to analyze advisor needs, territory data, and business opportunities to recommend effective sales and resource strategies while exercising sound independent judgment.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including internal sales, Regional Directors, marketing, product, compliance, operations, investor relations, and national accounts.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM systems, virtual meeting platforms, and investment analytics tools
- Strong professionalism, attention to detail, flexibility, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Work indoors in a professional office or hybrid office environment when not traveling in territory.
- Operate personal computer, phone, video conferencing tools, CRM systems, and other office equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 25lbs.
- Regular territory travel is required and may include air travel, driving, overnight stays, advisor meetings, branch meetings, conferences, client entertainment, and firm events.
- Work outside normal business hours as business needs deem appropriate.
