This role is a senior leadership opportunity within a fast-paced cloud environment, responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and performance of mission-critical SaaS platforms. You will oversee cloud operations across production systems, driving reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency across Azure and AWS environments. The position plays a key role in shaping DevOps practices, incident management processes, and cloud governance frameworks aligned with industry compliance standards. You will lead and mentor a cloud operations team while collaborating closely with engineering, R&D, and leadership stakeholders to define operational priorities. This is a highly strategic and hands-on role that blends technical depth with people leadership and continuous improvement. - Define and maintain requirements for secure, highly available, scalable, and cost-efficient cloud environments supporting SaaS applications.
- Oversee production deployments and ensure smooth operation of cloud-based systems across Azure and AWS platforms.
- Lead and prioritize activities for the Cloud Operations team, ensuring alignment with business and technical objectives.
- Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines and DevOps processes to improve deployment efficiency and system reliability.
- Establish monitoring, alerting, and performance baselines using KPIs, ensuring proactive detection and resolution of issues.
- Ensure cloud systems meet security, backup, disaster recovery, and compliance requirements, including SOC2 standards.
- Develop incident management processes, including escalation paths, remediation plans, and root-cause analysis frameworks.
- Drive infrastructure automation using IaC tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation.
- Collaborate with engineering and leadership teams to improve observability, security posture, and operational maturity.
- Promote continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for optimization, including the use of AI tools for operations enhancement.
- Mentor and support team members, fostering a culture of growth, accountability, and operational excellence.
- Proven experience managing cloud environments across AWS and Azure in production settings.
- Strong leadership experience managing Cloud Operations, DevOps, or Infrastructure teams.
- Hands-on expertise in CI/CD pipeline design, implementation, and optimization.
- Deep understanding of cloud architecture models (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS) and distributed systems.
- Strong experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation.
- Proficiency in DevOps and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Jenkins, etc.).
- Experience with application performance monitoring tools such as Datadog or New Relic.
- Strong scripting or programming ability (e.g., Python, Go, C#, Ruby, PowerShell).
- Solid understanding of cloud security principles, vulnerabilities, and incident response practices.
- Experience working with compliance frameworks such as SOC2 (preferred ISO 27001 or GDPR exposure).
- Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- High analytical capability, strong time management, and ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Familiarity with AI tools applied to DevOps, automation, or monitoring is an advantage.
- Competitive salary ranging from $125,000 to $135,000 CAD depending on experience and qualifications.
