Senior Product Manager - Platform

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Product Manager – Platform in Canada.

This role is a strategic, high-impact opportunity for a seasoned product leader to shape and evolve the foundational platform powering core policy administration, billing, payments, and API infrastructure. You will define and drive multi-year platform strategy, ensuring scalability, stability, and seamless integration across critical systems. Acting as a key partner to engineering, architecture, and business leadership, you will translate complex business needs into clear, actionable product direction. You will lead discovery on ambiguous, high-stakes platform challenges, ensuring decisions are grounded in data, user insights, and long-term business impact. This position requires a strong balance of technical fluency, strategic thinking, and stakeholder alignment. It is ideal for someone who thrives in complex, regulated environments and enjoys building platform products that enable entire organizations to move faster and more reliably.

Accountabilities:
  • Define and drive the long-term strategy and roadmap for core platform systems, including policy administration, billing, and payment infrastructure.
  • Act as the primary product owner for platform initiatives, aligning engineering, architecture, and business stakeholders on priorities and trade-offs.
  • Lead discovery efforts for complex, ambiguous platform challenges, ensuring clear problem definition before solution design.
  • Own and evolve API strategy, ensuring reliable, well-documented, versioned, and scalable interfaces for internal and external consumers.
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, and data teams to deliver solutions from concept through production deployment.
  • Write detailed product specifications, user stories, and documentation that enable clear and efficient execution.
  • Define, track, and communicate platform success metrics to drive continuous improvement and business alignment.
  • Manage key vendor relationships, including payment processors and third-party platform providers, ensuring long-term strategic alignment.
  • Mentor and support other product managers, promoting best practices and strong product thinking across the team.
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of professional experience, including at least 7 years in product management roles focused on software or platform products.
  • Proven experience owning platform, infrastructure, or API-driven products in fintech, insurtech, or regulated environments.
  • Experience leading large-scale platform modernization or migration initiatives across complex systems.
  • Strong technical fluency with the ability to engage in architecture discussions and understand system design trade-offs.
  • Experience working with APIs, distributed systems, and cross-system integrations at scale.
  • Vendor management experience, ideally with payment systems or third-party enterprise platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and executive audiences.
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience using data to guide product decisions and measure impact.
  • Ability to operate in ambiguity, prioritize effectively, and drive alignment across multiple stakeholders.
Benefits:
  • Competitive base salary with equity (RSUs) as part of total compensation
  • Retirement savings plan with company match
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance options
  • Health savings account contributions (based on plan selection)
  • Paid life insurance and disability coverage
  • Flexible paid time off and paid company holidays
  • Paid parental leave for primary and secondary caregivers
  • Mental health support and employee assistance programs
  • Professional development budget for learning, certifications, and conferences
  • Career growth and internal mobility opportunities across the organization
  • Remote-first work environment with flexibility based on location eligibility
