Love babies and have a little extra time to give?

Sioux Falls Lutheran School is looking for kind, gentle, and caring volunteers to spend time with the youngest members of our school community as Volunteer Baby Rockers.

You’ll work alongside our experienced infant care teachers, providing extra hands, extra snuggles, and plenty of attention to help create a nurturing environment for our infants and toddlers.

What You’ll Do

• Hold, rock, and interact with infants and toddlers
• Provide comfort, attention, and positive interaction
• Engage with children through talking, reading, singing, and age-appropriate play
• Support our infant care teachers as they lead daily routines and activities
• Help create a calm, safe, and nurturing environment for our youngest learners

We’re looking for volunteers who:

• Genuinely enjoy spending time with babies and young children
• Are patient, gentle, dependable, and caring
• Are comfortable working alongside teachers and following their direction
• Support the Christian mission and values of Sioux Falls Lutheran School

No teaching experience is required—just a heart for caring for little ones!

All Volunteer Baby Rockers must complete a required background check and orientation training with our child care director before volunteering.

Sometimes the simplest moments make a big difference—a comforting voice, a warm smile, or a safe set of arms when a little one needs some extra attention.

As a Volunteer Baby Rocker, you’ll support our teachers while spending meaningful time with the littlest members of the Sioux Falls Lutheran School community.
