Job Description
Augustana University invites applications for the position of Residence Hall Director, a full-time, 12-month, live-in administrative role within the Department of Residence Life. Residence Hall Directors are integral members of the Residence Life team, supporting a holistic and student-centered residential experience grounded in the University’s mission, vision, and core values. This position is responsible for the supervision of one residence hall, for staffing and programmatic needs. Residence halls house 250 to 450 students, depending on location and provide opportunities to work with students in themed communities specific to service, vocation and faith, flexible housing, and first-year students.

Responsibilities
- SupervisionDirectly supervise 6–10 undergraduate student staff members.Provide training, performance evaluation, and ongoing development support.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree preferred.Demonstrated understanding of student development theory and its application in residential settings.Desired Qualifications
Ability to articulate the purpose and value of the residential experience to students, families, and colleagues.Experience with crisis intervention, conflict management, and community engagement.Strong written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.Knowledge of program evaluation and assessment of learning outcomes.Ability to create communities welcoming and belonging.Interacting with students, faculty, staff, and community members from a variety of cultural backgrounds while demonstrating respect for differing perspectives, academic values, and inclusive excellence must be a core value of the successful candidate.
