Position Title: Virtual Host
Reports To: Virtual Program Site Manager
Date of Job Description: May 2026
Position Type: Hourly, 8-20 hours/week, cycle dependent
Compensation: $21.50/hr
The Position
The Virtual Host supports the Reading Results virtual tutoring team by facilitating the web-based platform where tutoring takes place, greeting students and recording attendance.
Essential Job Responsibilities and Outcomes
The Virtual Host’s primary responsibilities are:
- Opening the web-based video platform (Zoom) where tutoring is taking place
- Creating breakout rooms
- Greeting students as they enter the waiting room
- Sending students into their Tutor’s breakout rooms
- Recording attendance
- Assist with troubleshooting for virtual programming (connection issues, camera/microphone issues etc.)
Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following skills and qualifications:
- Access to reliable internet
- Familiarity with Zoom
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Fluency in Spanish
Environment and Conditions:
- Position is remote
Preferred Education/Experience:
- Experience in a non-profit, education or relevant setting highly desirable
- Experience working within a team
