  • JOB SUMMARY
    • The Nursing Unit Secretary in the Emergency Department provides essential administrative and clerical support to ensure smooth, efficient patient care operations. This role coordinates communication between clinical staff, patients, and providers, manages patient records, monitors orders, transfers and supports workflow in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. Accuracy, organization, and strong multitasking skills are critical to supporting timely and safe emergency care.

  • JOB QUALIFICATIONS
    • Education:
      • High School Graduate or Equivalent
    • Certifications/Licenses:
      • Basis Life Support (BLS)

    • Job Knowledge and Skills:
        • Patient flow (admissions, transfers, discharges)
        • Infection control and safety procedures
        • HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements
        • Supply management and inventory basics
        • Clear verbal and written communication
        • Professional interaction with nurses, physicians, patients, and families
        • Ability to relay messages accurately and promptly
        • Telephone etiquette and call screening
        • Compassionate and respectful interaction with patients and visitors
        • Cultural sensitivity and professionalism
