The Emergency Department Registered Nurse is responsible for providing safe, timely, and effective emergency nursing care to patients across the lifespan. This role is central to the hospital’s ability to deliver 24/7 emergency services, supporting patient stabilization, rapid clinical decision-making, and coordination of care with providers, EMS, and referral facilities. The Emergency Department RN contributes to departmental and hospital operations by ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining accurate clinical documentation, and promoting patient safety and quality outcomes. The scope of responsibility includes direct patient care, clinical and procedural support, and participation in operational and quality initiatives, with the flexibility to assume leadership or charge responsibilities as assigned.
