Take the lead in driving commercial growth within the life sciences and diagnostics sector by managing a strategic sales territory focused on histology consumables. In this role, you will partner with laboratories, healthcare organizations, and key decision-makers to deliver solutions that support critical diagnostic workflows and improve patient outcomes. You will combine consultative selling, strategic account management, and market expertise to expand customer relationships and uncover new business opportunities. Working alongside cross-functional teams, you will influence commercial strategy while helping customers achieve operational and clinical objectives. - Develop and execute territory and account strategies to drive sustainable revenue growth, increase market share, and strengthen long-term customer relationships.
- Manage a complex portfolio of sales opportunities while consistently achieving or exceeding annual sales objectives.
- Build trusted relationships with laboratory leaders, pathologists, procurement teams, and healthcare executives by serving as a strategic advisor.
- Promote the adoption of histology consumables through consultative selling, value-based discussions, and tailored business reviews.
- Collaborate closely with account managers, application specialists, service teams, marketing, and commercial leadership to maximize customer success.
- Utilize CRM platforms, territory analytics, forecasting tools, and market intelligence to identify growth opportunities and improve commercial performance.
- Monitor competitive activity, customer purchasing trends, and market developments to refine sales strategies and strengthen territory performance.
- Share industry knowledge, mentor colleagues, contribute to strategic initiatives, and support continuous improvement across the commercial organization.
- Bachelor's degree with at least 7 years of commercial sales experience, or a Master's degree with at least 5 years of relevant commercial experience.
- Demonstrated success exceeding sales targets while managing complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Experience developing strategic account plans, leading executive-level customer engagements, and conducting territory business reviews.
- Strong consultative sales, negotiation, relationship-building, and influencing skills.
- Proficiency using CRM systems and sales analytics to manage pipelines, forecast performance, and support data-driven decision-making.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams while managing multiple priorities independently.
- Experience coaching peers, leading commercial initiatives, or serving as a subject matter expert is highly valued.
- Willingness to travel approximately 50–75% within the assigned territory and possess a valid driver's license.
- Previous experience in histology, pathology, diagnostics, biotechnology, medical devices, laboratory consumables, or life sciences is preferred.
- Knowledge of hospital systems, academic medical centers, reference laboratories, diagnostic workflows, and value-based selling methodologies is considered an advantage.
- Competitive base salary ranging from $120,000–$140,000 annually.
- Sales Incentive Compensation (SIC), with total target annual compensation between $175,000–$195,000, based on performance.
